":P" is a series of DARK Cyberse monsters. This series focuses on Link monsters and various effects to protect monsters on the field and interrupt the opponent's play.

Their names are puns of IT security related terms like IP (Internet Protocol), SP (stack pointer) or EMP (electromagnetic pulse) and the :P emoticon, which represents a face with stretched-out tongue. The members of this series are opponents of the S-Force, as seen on cards like S-Force Chase or Small Scuffle. It seems that S-Force Rappa Chiyomaru became S:P Little Knight.

Playing style

At the moment, the ":P" series only consists of 2 Link-2 monsters and 1 Level 2 monster. ":P" cards can help to play against various defensive strategies and give the player more control over the board. Cards like Gigantic Spright or Link Devotee restrict the summoning of Link-3 or higher monsters, so I:P Masquerena can be used in the opponent's turn to summon powerful Link monsters like Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax, Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale or Underworld Goddess of the Closed World in the opponent's turn and the monster summoned with I:P Masquerena as Link material is also protected against destruction by opponent's card effects. S:P Little Knight can disrupt the opponent's strategy by banishing an opponent's monster and an own monster (e. g. a monster targeted by an opponent's card effect or itself). It can also banish a card from either GY, which is very powerful, as many meta decks rely on effects of cards in the GY. EM:P Meowmine allows for Link climbing, because it can be Special Summoned from your hand, when you control a Link monster. It can also bounce a card from the opponent to their hand, when a Link-2 monster is sent to the GY or banished face-up. Both effects can be achieved by I:P Masquerena or S:P Little Knight, respectively.
