Splashable refers to any card that is capable of boosting any Deck it is placed in, since the effect of that card works well, no matter what monsters complement it in the Deck.
One example of a Splashable card is "Breaker the Magical Warrior". Many Splashable cards are considered Staples. However, cards like "Monster Reborn" have since evolved from "Staple" to "Broken" (once again banned, as of Sept. 1st).
