"Magical Hats":

This card's artwork initially features black hats and a white glow while its real version features blue hats and a pink glow.

When Yugi Muto duels "Kaiba" (either Ghost Kaiba in the anime or Ventriloquist of the Dead in the manga), Yugi uses this card for the first time to create four Magical Hat Tokens to hide his Dark Magician in one token. After the Mimic's Blue-Eyes White Dragon attacks a token then another one that triggers Spellbinding Circle.

When Yami Yugi and Joey Wheeler tag-team duel the Paradox Brothers, Yugi uses it to create four Magical Hat Tokens to hide his Dark Magician and Joey's Flame Swordsman in one token. When a token is destroyed by Dox's Dungeon Worm, Joey releases his Flame Swordsman out of the token to destroy Dungeon Worm. When Gate Guardian's bottom section's attack floods the maze, this card is able to protect Dark Magician as he is still inside a token during the attack. The token earlier attacked contained Spellbinding Circle which Yugi activates on his turn to prevent Gate Guardian's sections from defending against his Summoned Skull's attack which destroys Gate Guardian's bottom section. Later, Yugi released his Dark Magician from the hat it was hiding to move further through the maze.

When Yugi Muto duels Joey Wheeler, Yugi uses this card to create four Magical Hat Tokens to hide his Dark Magician in one then Joey's Black Skull Dragon destroys one token then a second token. When Black Skull Dragon destroys the third token, Yugi's Spellbinding Circle activates and the last token containing Dark Magician was automatically destroyed shortly after.

Yugi duels Maximillion Pegasus, Yami Yugi uses this card to create four Magical Hat Tokens to hide his Dark Magician in one. Pegasus uses his Millennium Eye to read Yami Yugi's mind to find the token that hides the Dark Magician but Yami Yugi switches minds with Yugi Muto, leaving Pegasus unable to find the location as Yugi Muto doesn't know and Pegasus' Toon Summoned Skull attacks one token then another one. Later, Pegasus ultimately counters with Magical Neutralizing Force Field to destroy the remaining tokens.

While in The Big Five's rigged virtual world, Yugi Muto uses this card this card to create four Magical Hat Tokens to hide him, Joey Wheeler, Mai Valentine and Mokuba Kaiba in one to escape a trio of Labyrinth Tanks.

When Yugi Muto duels Bandit Keith, Yugi uses this card this card to create four Magical Hat Tokens to hide his Dark Magician in one but Keith uses Magic Jammer to negate and destroy it.

When Yugi duels Arkana, Yami Yugi uses this card to create four Magical Hat Tokens to protect his Dark Magician from Arkana's Mystic Guillotine. When Arkana uses Thousand Knives to destroy Yugi's Dark Magician since the former's effect is able to automatically figure out which hat Dark Magician is under, Yugi uses Cursebreaker which destroys both Thousand Knives and this card.

When Yami Yugi duels Strings, Yugi uses this card to create four Magical Hat Tokens to protect his Dark Magician Girl from being destroyed by Strings' Slifer the Sky Dragon's effect as she had less than 2000 DEF. When Slifer the Sky Dragon attacks the hat that contains Dark Magician Girl, Yugi utilizes Magic Cylinder and Spellbinding Circle to save her and destroy Slifer the Sky Dragon but Strings thwarts the redirected attack with Revival Jam and Jam Defender.

When Yugi Muto and Joey Wheeler duel The Big Five (using Tristan Taylor's body), Yugi uses this card again to create four Magical Hat Tokens to protect his Dark Magician (his Deck Master) from the Big Five's Berserk Dragon then uses his Deck Master's Special Ability to duplicate this card's effect to create another four Magical Hat Tokens to protect Joey's Flame Swordsman (Joey's Deck Master). When Berserk Dragon attacks all of the hats on Yugi's side of the field to destroy Yugi's Deck Master, Joey's Deck Master comes out of the hat and takes the attack then but Silver Dollar activates to negate the attack.

When Yami Yugi duels Seto Kaiba, Yugi has this card in hand while Yugi's Slifer the Sky Dragon and Kaiba's Obelisk the Tormentor are on the field.

During the first duel between Yami Yugi and Rafael, Yugi has this card in his hand after he activates Card of Sanctity.

During the second duel between Yami Yugi and Rafael, Yugi uses this card to create four Magical Hat Tokens to protect his Big Shield Gardna in one and his Dark Magician in another from Rafael's Guardian monsters. One hat takes Guardian Eatos' attack which is also the one containing Big Shield Gardna and is destroyed shortly after then Guardian Elma destroys another hat so Rafael would have higher chances to get rid of Yugi's Dark Magician then Guardian Grarl destroys a third hat but that one's empty and the last hat containing Dark Magician is automatically disappears afterwards since there's only one hat remaining after third attack.

This card appears (as a Magic Card) in the anime's Japanese closing song Borderline Battle.
This card can be seen in episode 180 in Yugi Muto's hand during his Duel against Jaden Yuki. It is shown after the effect of Subspatial Battle resolves.
