- This card has the highest DEF of any Level 4 monster in the TCG and the second-highest in the OCG where it is beaten only by "Super Bugman", which has not yet been released in the TCG.
- Counting the anime-only "Elemental Hero Clay Guardian", Defender has the third-highest DEF of any Level 4 monster.
- This is the Destiny Hero counterpart to "Elemental Hero Clayman". If you add the ATK and DEF of this card together, you get 2800. If you do this to "Elemental Hero Clayman", you get the same result, which further implies that statement.
- Although Defender is not a Rock-type monster, it seems to be made of rock - fitting, considering that Rock-types have traditionally had some of the game's highest DEF.
- This card is the only 2700 DEF Monster.
- The artwork depicts Defender as football defensive guard.
