"Destiny HERO - Defender":

This card has the second highest DEF of any Level 4 monster. The first is "Super Crashbug", with 3000 DEF.
- Although, Destiny HERO - Defender has the highest DEF of all Level 4 monsters that can be Normal Summoned.
- Counting the anime-only "Elemental HERO Clay Guardian", "Destiny HERO - Defender" has the third-highest DEF of any Level 4 monster.

This is the "Destiny HERO" counterpart to "Elemental HERO Clayman". If you add the ATK and DEF of this card together, you get 2800. If you do this to "Clayman", you get the same result, which further implies that statement.

Although "Destiny HERO - Defender" is not a Rock-Type monster, it seems to be made of rock - fitting, considering that Rock-Types have traditionally had some of the game's highest DEF.

The artwork depicts "Destiny HERO - Defender" as football defensive guard.
- Arguably, "Battle Footballer" runs this same parallel due to its appearance and high DEF.
