Normal Monster Cards, colored yellow, are used to protect your Life Points from Direct Damage. They possess basic stats (ATK, DEF, Level, Attribute, and Sub-Type) and have no effects. High ATK and low DEF Normal Monsters are often associated with Beatdown Decks.
Some popular cards have garnered magic cards that provide additional benefits to them. For instance, Dark Magic Attack makes Dark Magician more useful.
Also, Normal Monsters have recieved some support cards for all of them, such as Birthright.
The card text (flavor text) on these cards is for illustrative purposes only, and has no effect on gameplay, and they have no effect.
