:Anyway, I don't think "で" can mean "and" (or can it?). "Greederosity" seems to be a fan made word; a portmanteau of "[[Pot of Greed|Greed]]" and "[[Pot of Generosity|Generosity]]", so I don't think we should use that. Japanese translated name[edit]
There's a bit of a conflict over the Japanese translated name at the moment. I'm not an expert on Japanese, but the Japanese name is "強欲で謙虚な壺".
- 強欲 = greed.
- I'm not entirely sure what で means in this context, but "by (means of)" is one definition.
- 謙虚 = modesty.
- な treats preceding text like an adjective.
- 壺 = pot.
So it could be "[Modesty by Greed] Pot" or "Pot of [Modesty by Greed]". There's no obvious English word meaning "modesty by (means of) greed". "Greederosity" might have been a word made up the translator to fit this definition. -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:05, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
- Anyway, I don't think "で" can mean "and" (or can it?). "Greederosity" seems to be a fan made word; a portmanteau of "Greed" and "Generosity", so I don't think we should use that. Is "Pot of Greed by Modesty" okay? -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:12, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
で is the て-form of 強欲な. Translating it as "by" doesn't make any sense grammatically. In this context, it means "and." This whole thing is now just trolls trolling trolls. PsychicKid (talk • contribs) 22:06, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
