OCG Rulings
- It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.[1]
- When resolving the effect of "Self-Destruct Button", even if your Life Points are no longer 7000 or more lower than your opponent's, the effect is applied as usual.[1]
- The effect of "Self-Destruct Button" does not inflict damage to Life Points.[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[3] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If you activate "Self-Destruction Button" [sic], and an effect is chained so that the different in Life Points is less than 7000, "Self-Destruction Button" [sic] still resolves because its conditions were correct at the time of activation.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Amplifier: If you have "Jinzo with Amplifier" [sic], your Trap Cards are not negated and their effects are applied, including ... "Self-Destruct Button"...
Judge List Rulings
- If "Self-Destruct Button" resolves in the middle of a Chain the Duel ends in a Draw, and the remaining Chain Links of the Chain do not resolve.[2]
