Yu-Gi-Oh![edit]

Duelist Kingdom[edit]

Battle City (part 1)[edit]

  • In Yu-Gi-Oh! episode 08686: "Awakening of Evil, Part 1", this card can be seen in Joey's hand during his Duel against Odion. In the next episode, Odion uses "Embodiment of Apophis" to attack "Swordsman of Landstar", but Joey activates "Foolish Burial" to send "Jinzo" from his Deck to Odion's Graveyard. Joey then activates this card to revive "Jinzo" under his control. Due to the effect of "Jinzo", Odion's three "Embodiments of Apophis" are destroyed as they are still treated as Trap Cards.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a series of flashbacks that Joey has when he notes to Odion that he has met many people on his way to the Battle City Finals and he kept fighting all the way no matter how grim the situation was.

Virtual World[edit]

Battle City (part 2)[edit]

  • In Yu-Gi-Oh! episode 122122: "Back to Battle City - Part 1", Joey sets this card during the Battle Royal between himself, Yami Marik, Yami Yugi, and Kaiba. In the next episode, this card is still face-down on the field. In the following episode, Joey's "Axe Raider" attacks Kaiba's "Blade Knight", but Kaiba activates "Ring of Destruction" to destroy "Axe Raider" and inflict its ATK as damage to both Joey and Kaiba. Kaiba then activates "Ring of Defense" to protect himself from the effect of "Ring of Destruction", but Joey activates this card to steal Yami Marik's "Spell of Pain" and activate it as his card, redirecting the damage that Joey would have taken from the effect of "Ring of Destruction" to Yami Marik instead. This causes Yami Marik to be defeated.
    • In the third above-mentioned episode, this card is shown in a flashback that Joey has when he remembers all the Duelists he faced on his way to the Battle City Finals.
