- This card can be searched via "Terraforming".
- You can use "Light of Intervention" so all your opponent's monsters will stay face-up and they will be weakened by "Venom Swamp".
- "Vengeful Bog Spirit" and "Stumbling" work extremely well with this card, as it ensures the opponent will not be able to attack before their monsters have been significantly weakened.
- In addition, since all your Venom monsters will be busy placing Venom Counters, these will not be a detriment to your overall strategy. Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes is also immune to the effects of Spell Cards, allowing it to attack on the turn it's Summoned.
- "Field Barrier" is recommended when using this card, as Venom monsters in general are rather weak offensively.
- Be careful of Caius the Shadow Monarch with Field Barrier. If your opponent ejects "Venom Swamp" by his effect, you'll have no 'swamp and your own Field Barrier will block its activation.
- This can be used with the card "Shield & Sword" to kill monsters because most monsters with high ATK have low DEF.
- "Cyber Valley," "Soul Tiger," "Metal Reflect Slime" and the tokens from the spell card: "Scapegoat" work well with this card because due to them having 0 ATK Venom Swamp will not Destroy them.
- "Swords of Revealing Light" works well with this card, especially if you use "Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar" to return "Swords of Revealing Light" to your hand.
- It is a good idea to use flip monsters such as "Des Feral Imp," "Gale Lizard," and "Mask of Darkness" with this card, since face-down monsters can't have Venom Counters. Cards like "Stealth Bird" and "Cobraman Sakuzy" that can flip themselves facedown are a good idea too.
- This card works well with Spirit monsters.
- Monsters that are unaffected by Spells such as "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" and "Silent Swordsman LV5" can safely be used in conjunction with this card.
- Monsters which cannot by destroyed by spell card effect such as "Evil Hero Infernal Sniper", "Super Vehicroid Jumbo Drill" summoned with "Vehicroid Connection Zone, or "Ultimate Axon Kicker" also good as media to collect venom counters needed for "Venom Burn". Just be sure to summon them at Defense Position as the ATK will still go down to zero.
- "Non-Spellcasting Area" can protect non-Effect Monsters from the effects of this card.
