- This card can be searched via "Witch of the Black Forest" (Traditional Format Only) and "Magician's Circle".
- You can discard "Ojamagic" to ease the cost.
- In Traditional Format, you can discard "Sinister Serpent" to get it back next turn.
- This cards also works well with cards that get their effects in your graveyard, such as "Makyura the Destructor", "Treeborn Frog", "Destiny Hero - Dasher", and "Destiny Hero - Malicious".
- Since discarding a card for it's Effect Special Summons it, you can use it as Tribute fodder for cards like Jinzo or the Monarchs.
- In an Elemental Hero Deck, discard Elemental Hero Necroshade to summon this card and you can summon a high-level Elemental Hero monster, like Elemental Hero Bladedge (for either a Fusion or Beatdown theme) or Elemental Hero Neos (for a Neos theme).
- Discard Yubel for the Special Summon cost and you can use Monster Reborn later on to return it to the field.
- This card works well with cards from the Rise of the Dragon Lords Structure Deck.
- This is a good card to use with Synchro Monsters. For example, Try sending Quillbolt Hedgehog to the graveyard to summon this card, then Normal Summon Sinister Sprocket and Special Summon Quillbolt with it's effect, and you'll be ready to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon, Colossal Fighter, Red Dragon Archfiend or Thought Ruler Archfiend so you can destroy an opponent's Spell or Trap card.
- This card can be used to set up monsters for Destiny Hero - Dogma or Destiny Hero - Plasma easily. Summon Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy, then discard Destiny Hero - Malicious to Summon this card, then use Destiny Hero - Malicious's effect to Summon another copy. Then tribute all three monsters to Special Summon Destiny Hero - Dogma or Destiny Hero - Plasma.
