- This card can be searched via "Black Whirlwind".
- Negating or removing the monster with "D.D. Crow" or "Royal Oppression" will prevent its burn effect since it happens in resolution and not the cost. On top of that, "Zephyros" will not be able to activate its effect anymore if it is negated.
- Return "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind" to your hand so you can Special Summon and use its effect again with this card. Then you can Synchro Summon to a Level 7 Synchro Monster like "Blackwing Armor Master".
- Summon from your hand "Blackwing - Bora the Spear" or "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind", return it to your hand to Special Summon "Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite" and Special Summon back to the field either monster.
- Retrieve a "Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North" to reuse its effect or the monster it recovers.
- Retrieve "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow" for its effect.
- Discard with the effect of "Dark Grepher" and another "Blackwing" monster (to be used with "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor").
- Use this card with "Icarus Attack" as a safety precaution before attempting to swarm the field by other means.
- Use in decks for Tribute, Synchro or Ritual material.
- In "Monarchs", retrieve a "Monarch" that is on the field to reuse its effect.
- You can even Tribute a "Treeborn Frog" instead of the Zephyros.
- In "Absolute Zero" Decks, return "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" to destroy all monsters your opponent controls.
- In "Infernity" Decks, retrieve a card like "Infernity Necromancer" to reuse its effect.
- In a deck that uses "Supervise", use "Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite" in the Graveyard to retrieve an equipped "Supervise" and Special Summon "Zephyros". Then, use "Supervise" for another Gemini monster.

- You could even full your field in 1 turn by having this card and "Blackwing - Bora the Spear" in your graveyard with "Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North","Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind", and "Blackwing - Gust the Backblast" in your hand. First, make sure you control no cards on your field so you can special summon "Blackwing - Gust the Backblast" using it's effect. Then,normal summon "Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North" and use it's effect to special summon "Blackwing - Bora the Spear" from your graveyard.Return "Blackwing - Bora the Spear" to your hand to special summon this card to your field and takes 400 damage. After that, special summon "Blackwing - Bora the Spear" using it's effect and special summon "Gale" from your hand. For beatdown, use "Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn","Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite" and 3 "Blackwing - Bora the Spear".(Note: use 1 "Gale" if you cannot assemble 3 "Blackwing - Bora the Spear" in time.)
- This card works great with Divine Wind of Mist Valley, since you can return a WIND monster back to your hand, Special Summon this card and use Mist Valley Divine Wind's effect to Special Summon a Winged Beast monster from the deck, giving you the ability to have up to 2 or 3 monsters on the field.
- This is a good card in Dragunity Decks. Use the effect of "Dragon Ravine" by discarding "Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite", and return "Dragon Ravine" in your hand to activate the effect of "Zephyros", and re-use "Dragon Ravine" and its effect. Also, "Zephyros" is a Winged-Beast-Type Monster and can be used as Synchro Material Monster for "Dragunity" Synchro Monsters.
