Yu-Gi-Oh!

  • In the original manga and first series anime, this is a Level 7 monster.
  • Two episodes later, Weevil threw Yugi's Exodia cards overboard on the ship to Duelist Kingdom. Joey jumps to try and save them, but only recovers two pieces.
  • Seeker later dueled Yugi but when he ran out of defensive monsters he attempted to use one of the three "Exodia the Forbidden One" (they were called the "Head of Exodia" here, likely to avoid confusion) that he had in his hand as a defensive monster. But Yugi used "Chain Destruction" to destroy the other copies of "Exodia the Forbidden One" in his hand and Deck. Then, Yugi attacked with "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" and destroyed the "Exodia the Forbidden One" on the field. It was then discovered that Seeker's cards had been marked by an invisible ink that let him know what card he was about to draw (in the Japanese version, they were forgeries). Yugi then ripped the Exodia cards up.
    • In the manga, Yugi used Lightforce Sword to forcefully placed one of Exodia's arm on the field from Rare Hunter's hand then used the Chain Destruction card to destroy the armes of Exodia in Rare Hunter's deck. Any parts of Exodia cannot be revived from graveyard (in manga rules) thus Rare Hunter surrendered at this moment in the manga. Also, in manga, there's no scene where Yugi ripping the Exodia cards that Rare Hunter had after the duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

  • Later on, Adrian himself uses the deck against Aster Phoenix, ultimately claiming victory. Adrian then decides to use Exodia in order to become the king of the third alternate dimension and challenges a possessed Jesse Anderson (now possessed by Yubel) to a duel using the Exodia pieces.

Naming

  • In the Spanish dub, this card was known as "Exodia, el Prohibido".
  • In the French dub, this card was known as "Exodia le Maudit" ,means "Exodia the Cursed One"

About Exodia itself

  • In Battle City a Seeker also had three copies of Exodia; by using "Graceful Charity" he drew all five pieces and defeated Joey. Yugi later discovered that the Exodia cards owned by him were forgeries (the cards were marked with invisible ink in the dub).
  • In the Memory World, Shimon (the past life of Solomon Muto) had this monster as his Ka and he swore to seal it and never use it again after he destroyed the force that was attacking the Egyptian capital.
  • When Zorc Necrophades rose and began to march on the city, Shimon took up the Millennium Key that Isis brought back and summoned Exodia to combat Zorc (this is in the anime only, while in the manga Shimon took the key off Shada's corpse). Although Exodia experienced some success, especially after Shimon demonstrates it's ability to regenerate after its arm was torn off by Zorc, Zorc overpowered Exodia since it's power is based on Shimon's, while Zorc can draw power from the darkness. Therefore, Exodia is destroyed and Shimon was killed.
  • The attack of this monster is called "Raging Hellfire - Exxod Flame" 「怒りの業火 エクゾード・フレイム」" in the Japanese anime/manga and in the English uncut versions. The broadcast anime doesn't have a consistent attack name, although Yami famously orders Exodia to "obliterate" Kaiba's monsters in the first episode.
