I agree that the news section did not worked well, But still it was a important section. Anyway why not redesign the new section ? I'm sure there is a way to make it work on mobile too. It's now written in Java right ? Well I think you can try it with HTML5 or maybe SCS, unfortunately I'm not a developer so I don't know if there are more efficient languages than SCS and HTML. The double-scrolling problem is easy to solve, for example manual arrow keys, and lastly it is also possible to shrink some releases like the Manga promotional cards. Only the big stuff...
For the time being I think placing a link on the main page to the news section would make a lot of people happy.
As for the Trivia section, I think a lot of people are sick of the same trivia every day. Renew or remove it. my suggestion is to replace trivia with something like a poll or article of the weak, maybe a list of tier 1 and 2 decks which will be renewed every format. Anyway just remove it and replace it with something useful is better.
