Deck Masters

Featured Duel: Yami Yugi vs. Gansley - Part 2

Duel continued from previous episode.

Yami's turn
Obnoxious Celtic Guardian attacks Gansley directly. (Gansley's Life Points: 4000 → 2600).

Because Gansley received over 1000 points of Battle Damage, he Special Summons Ruklamba the Spirit King in Attack Position. (2000 ATK / 1000 DEF) via its effect.

Gansley's turn
Gansley Normal Summons Yowie in Attack Mode. (500 ATK / 500 DEF).

Since Yowie was Normal Summoned, its effect forces Yami to skip his next Draw Phase.

Then Gansley pays 800 Life Points (Gansley's Life Points: 2600 → 1800) to activate Equip Magic Card Premature Burial to Special Summon Ipiria in Attack Mode. (500 ATK / 500 DEF).

Yami's turn
Obnoxious Celtic Guardian attacks "Ipiria" but Gansley activates his Deck Master Ability. He tributes Ipiria and Yowie to negate the attack then inflicts damage equal to Obnoxious Celtic Guardian's ATK to Yami's Life Points. (Yami's Life Points: 1900 → 500).

Gansley tributes Ruklamba the Spirit King to Special Summon monsters with 2000 or less ATK: Wall of Illusion (1850 ATK / 1000 DEF) and another Ruklamba the Spirit King in Attack Position.

Duel concludes next episode.

Differences In Adaptations

  • Premature Burial's been given a redesign in the dub to smudge out the cross and the face of the buried guy.
  • In the Japanese, the scene shifts to the sky as Yami continues to scream when Celtic Guardian's attack is reflected back.
  • Cut from the dub are images of other happy children in the playground with their parents when Kaiba and Mokuba see their past, and they have cut another image of the empty playgroud beign replaced by Mokuba sitting alone on a swing.
