If I play lightning vortex against my friend's wind type monster, and he uses spiritual wind art - miyabi, is he allowed to do it? The card says tribute 1 wind type monster to send 1 of your opponents monsters to the bottom of the deck.
of course he's allowed to do it...
there is no time missing here, your card simply starts a chain and he chains with his trap. He tributes the monster and then the effect becomes chain link 2 ;) 95.91.44.74 01:24, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
but can you tribute a monster that has already been destroyed? If lightning vortex targets all of his monsters, and I've already discarded, am I allowed to re decide if I want to use lightning vortex or is it too late?
- The monster has not been destroyed yet. By chaining to "Lightning Vortex", the monster is tributed as a cost and, assuming that the monster was the only monster on the field, "Vortex"'s effect disappears. You don't get the cost for "Vortex" back and you don't get to take back the move. Danny Lilithborne 02:22, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
- Also, Lightning Vortex does not target! It simply destroys all the opponent's face-up monsters on the field. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 09:10, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
Lightning Vortex doesn't activate when you play it. The effect activates when you discarded the card. And even then, the monsters are not destroyed yet. The player still have the option to chain with a trap/quick spell bevore the effect resolves. And so tributing the monster bevore it's destroyed. ;) 95.91.44.74 12:06, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
