Thunder Spark is a non-human character appearing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL manga. He is a Numbers Hunter working for Mr. Heartland in the Heartland Theme Park, disguised as an employee. He is also the first Duelist in the ZEXAL era to Duel in a Duel Runner-like system.
Design
Thunder Spark has many elements on his design that resemble lightning bolts; for example, his hair and the thunder drawings in his clothes. He has big empty eyes, and curiously, seems not to have a mouth. He also wears a cloak and has armor-like boots.
Biography
Past
Thunder Spark is a kind of artificial human born from electron drips. Since he was a child, Thunder Spark could never touch anyone, because his body would electrify them. That continued until the present, making Spark be unable of shaking hands with the park's customers.
Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL
Thunder Spark is first introduced together with Captain Corn and Koron-chan, as the "Guardians of the Heartland Theme Park". He uses his riding attraction "Speed Loader" to attract Numbers Holders, and then Duels them in a "Speed Duel" to obtain the "Numbers".
After Captain Corn's loss to Yuma Tsukumo, Mr. Heartland sends Spark to defeat him. Spark then challenges Yuma to a "Speed Duel". Spark began overpowering Yuma with his "Number", but Yuma manages to win by using the "Number" he got from Captain Corn, "Number 50: Black Corn".
After winning, Yuma, recognizing Spark as a true Duelist, asks him to shake hands. Happy with that, Spark accepts, and feels good to being able to touch a person. He then says his last words to Yuma and quietly disappears in peace, returning to his original form.
