- "Book of Life" is obviously useful if you use a Zombie Deck. The fact that it can re-Special Summon Zombie mosters from your Graveyard without a cost and at the same time, remove from play a monster in your opponent's Graveyard, makes it a very helpful card.
- "Book of Life" is useful when used to Special Summon cards from your Graveyard such as: "King of the Skull Servants", "Despair from the Dark", "Vampire Lord", "Spirit Reaper" and "Ryu Kokki". All of these cards except "King of the Skull Servants" can be obtained from Structure Deck 2: Zombie Madness.
- "Book of Life" can be used to Special Summon "Il Blud". You can then Second Summon "Il Blud" (provided you have not used your Normal Summon for the turn), and Special Summon another Zombie.
- This card's potential increases greatly with the arrival of cards such as "Destiny Hero - Disk Commander", "Destiny Hero - Malicious" and "Treeborn Frog" due to its removal effect.
- It combos very well with "Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower".
- You can trick your opponent by attacking them with "Vampire Lady" or "Vampire Lord" and using their effect to force them to discard a Monster from their deck. Most decks contain at least one Monster that is useful in the Graveyard. Then use "Book of Life" to remove that monster from play while gaining one additional monster.
- This card can be useful as a counter to "Stardust Dragon"'s effect. Use a card like "Heavy Storm" that your opponent can negate with Stardust, then use "Book of Life" to remove it from play.
