• Neos design derives from either the manga series Guyver and the Ultraman series.

• "Neo" is a Greek prefix meaning "new", showing him as the new "Elemental Hero".

• This card is very similar to "Dark Magician". Both have similar stats, are supported by a variety of cards, and are the top cards of their respective owners' decks (Jaden and Yugi respectively, who are also coincidentally the main characters of their respective series). This connection is explicitly stated by Jaden in episode 179 of GX. The main protagonist of 5D's, Yusei, has Stardust Dragon, which has 2500 ATK and 2000 DEF like Neos.
