- This card can be searched by "Dogu", "Single Purchase", "Chaos Zone", "Draconnection", "Minerva, Lightsworn Maiden", and "The Melody of Awakening Dragon".
- You can use "Chain Material" to summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" easily then offer it to to Special Summon this card.
- Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" with "Summoner of Illusions" or "Dragon's Mirror", then Tribute it to Special Summon this card. "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" can be brought back using "Monster Reincarnation".
- This card can be more useful than "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" because it can negate card effects that target it: However, if there are no other dragons in your Graveyard, this card has less ATK and also, you can't use "De-Fusion" with this card to Special Summon your three copies of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your Graveyard in a situation that required it.
- Use this card in conjunction with "Vanguard of the Dragon" and "Spirit Ryu" to send cards to the graveyard to boost "Vanguard of the Dragon", "Spirit Ryu's" and "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon's" ATKs.
- You can equip this card with "Metalsilver Armor" to make your other monsters slightly invulnerable to your opponent's card effects.
- You can equip this card with "Mist Body" to make a monster that can be invulnerable to card effects that target and battle.
- Given the correct ATK circumstances, this card could easily defeat "Red Nova Dragon" because its effect that banishes itself targets this card, which means it can be negated.
- Using "Dragon Shield" or "Safe Zone" on this card makes it virtually indestructible.
- Use cards that will send Dragons to the graveyard to power this card up like "Full Salvo", "Magical Merchant", and Armed Dragons.
- You can summon this card by using the combined effect of "Mystical Beast Serket" and "Temple of the Kings" to Special Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" from your Extra Deck, then allowing you to Special Summon this card from your hand by tributing "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon".
Traditional Format
- This card can be searched by "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms".
- Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" with "Future Fusion", so "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" will have a 1200 ATK boost.
- If you also have "Dragon's Mirror" you can send 3 "Blue-Eyes" and fuse them right away, but this card will have less ATK, so use "Burial from a Different Dimension" to get the 3 banished dragons back.
- If also have "Polymerization" you could do this: Activate "Future Fusion" and declare "Five-Headed Dragon". Send three "The White Stone of Legends" and two other Dragon-Type monsters. Because of the effects of "The White Stones", you must add three "Blue-Eyes White Dragons" to your hand. Play "Polymerization", Fusion Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon", and Tribute "Ultimate Dragon" for a "Shining Dragon" with 5700 ATK and a "Five-Headed Dragon" in two turns.
- Send "Red-Eyes Wyvern" and "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" along with the three "The White Stone of Legends" to the graveyard to swarm the field with a "Shining Dragon" with 4800 ATK, a "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" & a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in the same turn, as well as getting a "Five-Headed Dragon" in two turns.
- Or send "Eclipse Wyvern" and a DARK Dragon with the 3 "The White Stone of Legends". Then remove those 2 monsters to summon "Light Pulsar" or "Darkflare Dragon" or a monster with similar summoning conditions. This way you can search this card as well as summon it in one turn.
- If you use "Darkflare Dragon" you can increase this card's ATK by an additional 600 each that you have a dragon in your hand.
- Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" with "Cyber-Stein", then Tribute it to Special Summon this card.
- Use "Painful Choice" to send 3 "Blue-Eyes White Dragons" for "Dragon's Mirror" or 4 random Dragons to give this card a 1200 ATK points boost.
