Card Tips:Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon
- This card can be searched by "Dogu", "Single Purchase", "Painful Escape", "Chaos Zone", "Draconnection", "Minerva, Lightsworn Maiden", "The Melody of Awakening Dragon" and "Priestess with Eyes of Blue".
- "Chain Material" can be used to Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" easily then offer it to Special Summon this card.
- This card can be summoned with "A Wild Monster Appears!" and then tributed during your opponent's turn by using "Escalation of the Monarchs" to summon "The Tyrant Neptune". When summoning "Neptune", you can target "Shining Dragon" to have "Neptune" gain it's effects, making it an extraordinarily powerful monster.
- "Daigusto Emeral" can be useful in a "Blue-Eyes" Deck geared towards Summoning this card, since it can resurrect "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" to Tribute it, or "Blue-Eyes White Dragon".
- Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" with "Summoner of Illusions" or "Dragon's Mirror", then Tribute it to Special Summon this card. "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" can be brought back using "Monster Reincarnation". Use "Burial from a Different Dimension" to return the Dragons banished by "Dragon's Mirror" to your Graveyard.
- This card can be more useful than "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" because it can negate card effects that target it: However, if there are no other Dragons in your Graveyard, this card has less ATK, and also, "De-Fusion"can't be used with this card to Special Summon your three copies of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your Graveyard in a situation that required it.
- Use this card in conjunction with "Vanguard of the Dragon" and "Spirit Ryu" to send cards to the Graveyard to boost the ATKs of "Vanguard", "Spirit Ryu" and "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon".
- This card can be equipped with "Metalsilver Armor" to make your other monsters slightly invulnerable to your opponent's card effects.
- This card can be equipped with "Mist Body" to make a monster that can be invulnerable to card effects that target and battle. Combine "Mist Body" with "Mound of the Bound Creator" and there will be an almost invincible monster. Only cards that banish without targeting or destroying, such as "Destruction Sword Flash", and cards that send cards to the Graveyard without destroying, such as "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End" will work against this card. Use "Field Barrier", "Stardust Dragon" and/or "Magic Reflector" to protect "Mound of the Creator" from effects that could destroy it.
- Given the correct ATK circumstances, this card could easily defeat "Red Nova Dragon" because its effect that banishes itself targets this card, which means it can be negated.
- Using "Dragon Shield" or "Safe Zone" on this card makes it virtually indestructible.
- "Mound of the Bound Creator" can also be used to protect this card from all card effects that target and destroy monsters since it is a Level 10 monster. "Imperial Iron Wall" can prevent this card from being banished.
- Use cards that will send Dragons to the Graveyard to power this card up like "Full Salvo", "Magical Merchant", "Dragon Shrine" and "Armed Dragons".
- This card can be Summoned by using the combined effect of "Mystical Beast of Serket" and "Temple of the Kings" to Special Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" from your Extra Deck, then allowing yourself to Special Summon this card from your hand by Tributing "Blue-Eyes Ultimate".
- Cards that do not target can still affect "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon". Use "The Huge Revolution is Over" to counter such cards.
Traditional Format
- This card can be searched by "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms".
- Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" with "Future Fusion", so "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" will have a 1200 ATK boost.
- If also have "Dragon's Mirror", 3 "Blue-Eyes" can be send and fuse them right away, but this card will have less ATK, so use "Burial from a Different Dimension" to get the 3 banished Dragons back.
- If also have "Polymerization", this could be done: Activate "Future Fusion" and declare "Five-Headed Dragon". Send three "The White Stone of Legends" and two other Dragon-Type monsters. Because of the effects of "The White Stones", three "Blue-Eyes White Dragons" must be added to your hand. Play "Polymerization", Fusion Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon", and Tribute "Ultimate Dragon" for a "Shining Dragon" with 5700 ATK and a "Five-Headed Dragon" in two turns.
- Send "Red-Eyes Wyvern" and "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" along with the three "The White Stone of Legends" to the Graveyard to swarm the field with a "Shining Dragon" with 4800 ATK, a "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" & a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in the same turn, as well as getting a "Five-Headed Dragon" in two turns.
- Or send "Eclipse Wyvern" and a DARK Dragon with the 3 "The White Stone of Legends". Then banish those 2 monsters to Summon "Light Pulsar" or "Darkflare Dragon" or a monster with similar Summoning conditions. This way this card can be searched as well as Summon it in one turn.
- If "Darkflare Dragon" is used, this card's ATK can be increased by an additional 600 each that a Dragon in your hand.
- Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" with "Cyber-Stein", then Tribute it to Special Summon this card.
- Use "Painful Choice" to send 3 "Blue-Eyes White Dragons" for "Dragon's Mirror" or 4 random Dragons to give this card a 1200 ATK points boost.
