- In the anime and manga, Brain Control did not have the 800 Life Point cost to activate it.
- In the first match of the Duelist Kingdom Finals, Yugi used this card against Mai to take control of her Harpie's Pet Dragon. He could not attack Harpie Lady with it, but was able to Tribute it for the effect of Catapult Turtle and destroy Mai's Mirror Wall.
- Against Pegasus, Yugi used Brain Control to take control of Relinquished, which had Jigen Bakudan "equipped" to it. He then activated Dark Magic Ritual, Tributing Jigen Bakudan and Dark Magician to Ritual Summon Magician of Black Chaos.
- Yugi used this card against Strings to take control of Revival Jam, which would prove to be the ultimate game winner.
