Forum:Future Fusion ?

I have read the rulings page and the card over and over again, and I just want to be sure that I understand this card before placing it into my deck.

Future Fusion states that I can send fusion material monsters from my deck: ie sending Elemental Hero Sparkman and Elemental Hero Clayman to the graveyard and select Elemental Hero Thunder Giant from my extra deck. My first question is where do I put Elemental Hero Thunder Giant until the 2nd Standby Phase after activation, do I leave it in my Extra Deck? This next part of the card confuses me, it says Special Summon a Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck with the same name as the selected fusion monster I read that as if you have 2x Elemental Hero Thunder Giant that would allow me to special summon the second one, but my common sense is telling me that is the more advanced way of saying that the first Elemental Hero Thunder Giant you chose upon activation of the Future Fusion you then special summon/fusion summon it to the field during your 2nd Standby Phase. It sounds like it allows you to do a summon without a Polymerization card, as long as Future Fusion stays on the field for the 2nd Standby Phase. Did I read that ruling right or am I completely off base with my understanding of it.

1) The chosen Elemental Hero Thunder Giant is special summoned to your side on the field during the second standby phase after Future Fusion's activation. 2) You have to special summon the Elemental Hero Thunder Giant chosen by Future Fusion at it's resolution. If he is not in your extra deck during your second standby phase, then you cannot special summon another Elemental Hero Thunder Giant instead. ATEMVEGETA 19:55, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

You cannot target a card in the Extra Deck, since it is not public knowledge.

When you activate "Future Fusion", you reveal a copy of "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant". After "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant" returns to the Extra Deck, "Future Fusion" loses all connection to the copy of "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant" that you revealed.

During your second Standby Phase, you Special Summon a copy of "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant" from your Extra Deck. It can be the same one that you revealed, it can be a different one, it can be one that was Special Summoned and then returned to the Extra Deck, etc.

Wait. Future Fusion's lore says: Select that 1 Fusion Monster, and then Special Summon the selected Fusion Monster. Since it wants the selected Elemental Hero Thunder Giant then why it loses connection to the copy of that you revealed? ATEMVEGETA 06:18, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
