- In episode 40, Akiza Izinski equipped this to "Black Rose Dragon".
- In the anime, if this card was destroyed, any monster affected by this card's ATK draining effect have their ATK returned to normal (In the TCG/OCG, their ATK will remain as they are even if Thorn of Malice was removed from the field unless the monster affected is removed from the field and summoned back to the field again).
