Asian-English cards are cards printed in English for distribution in Asia outside of Japan and Korea. They are distinguished from English cards printed for English regions mainly by the unique Yu-Gi-Oh! logo on the cards' backings and set packaging (until Enemy of Justice), and the region identifier "AE" in their Card Number (from Invasion of Chaos onwards). These cards are only legal in Asia outside of Japan and Korea; they are not legal anywhere else.
Proper Asian-English sets were preceded by two cards ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and "Dark Magician") that were printed in 2001 with direct translations of their Japanese names and flavor texts instead of the TCG ones, in the same font as Japanese. The cards that came after them are almost identical to TCG English ones, besides the aforementioned differences and being printed on the same card stock as Japanese cards, making them stiffer.
Aside from those two early cards, Asian-English prints prior to the 2023 resumption were mostly Core Boosters, with identical contents to their North American English releases. All Core Boosters up to Enemy of Justice, plus Crimson Crisis and Raging Battle; the Starter Decks Yugi and Kaiba; and the Structure Deck Lord of the Magician had Asian-English prints. The Duel Monsters International: Worldwide Edition promotional cards were only released in Asian-English, and the Japanese World Championship Qualifier participation cards and World Championship prize cards have normally included an Asian-English card.
"Barrel Dragon" was printed in English for its release with The Valuable Book 5 promotional cards, but because it was distributed within a Japan-exclusive magazine like the other two VB5 promos, it is considered a Japanese print instead of Asian-English.
Sets stopped being printed in Asian-English after Enemy of Justice in 2007, aside from a brief resumption in 2009 with Crimson Crisis, Structure Deck: Lord of the Magician, and Raging Battle (for which the card backings were switched to the TCG one) and occasional prize cards. In July 2023, shortly after the admission of Indonesia as an official OCG territory,[1] it was announced that Asian-English products would resume printing.[2] The first Asian-English products released after this announcement were Speed Start Deck Link Edition and Speed Start Deck Synchro Edition in October 2023. These new sets use the Japanese card backing and artworks.

Exclusive Forbidden and Limited Lists
Following the resumption of this print, the first Forbidden and Limited Lists for the Asian-English OCG were posted.[3][4][5] Similar to the Forbidden and Limited Lists exclusive to the Simplified Chinese OCG, only cards printed in Asian-English prior to the publication of each set of Lists will be included, and any cards in that print that are newly added to each set of Lists will be Unlimited prior to their new statuses, unless stated otherwise. Furthermore, the Japanese Forbidden and Limited Lists will take precedence over the Asian-English Lists for international OCG tournaments.
List of Asian-English releases
At least 71 sets have been printed in Asian-English.
