Notes

Battle City

Virtual World

  • In episode 111, this card is shown while Yugi and Joey were choosing cards for their Duel against the Big Five. Joey sees this card and remembers Yami Marik banishing Mai's soul. He notes he will save her as soon he gets out of the Virtual Realm. Joey then selects this card as a homage to Mai. This is the only known card that Joey selects.

Waking the Dragons

  • In episode 148, this card is seen among piles of cards in Rex's fantasy when he thinks the reason why Pegasus invited Yugi and his friends was because he wanted to give them rare cards just for them.
  • When Mai Valentine duels an opponent in a flashback, this card makes a cameo. When the opponent's "Tri-Horned Dragon" attacks this card, Mai activates "Mirror Wall" to halve the 2850 ATK of "Tri-Horned Dragon". The man then activates "Rush Recklessly" to raise the ATK of "Tri-Horned Dragon" to 2125, but Mai activates "Fairy's Hand Mirror" to transfer the effect of "Rush Recklessly" to this card, raising its ATK to 2500. The attack then backfires, destroying the man's "Tri-Horned Dragon" and winning Mai the duel.[1]
  • During Joey Wheeler's second duel with Mai Valentine (under Dartz's influence), Mai plays three copies of this card. On her first turn, Mai plays her first copy. On her next turn, Mai summons the second copy. She then equips that one with "Aero Nail". She then has the copy equipped with "Aero Nail" destroy Joey's "Blue Flame Swordsman", but the effect of "Blue Flame Swordsman" then allows Joey to Special Summon "Flame Swordsman" which Joey then tributes on his turn to Tribute Summon "Cyber-Tech Alligator". Joey then has "Cyber-Tech Alligator" destroy the copy equipped with "Aero Nail", but the effect of "Aero Nail" then allows Mai to equip "Aero Nail" to her first copy. After Mai activates "The Seal of Orichalcos", the copy equipped with "Aero Nail" gains 500 ATK. She then plays her third copy, who then gains 500 ATK due to "The Seal of Orichalcos". She then has the copy equipped with "Aero Nail" attack and destroy Joey's "Cyber-Tech Alligator". The third copy then attacks Joey directly, but Joey plays "Scapegoat" to create four Sheep Tokens however Mai uses "Nightmare Tri-Mirror" to Special Summon four tokens of this card. Mai then continues her third copy's attack which destroys one Sheep Token.[2] On the next turn, Mai has one copy attack Joey's "Swordsman of Landstar" but Joey activates "Double Magical Arm Bind" to take control of two of Mai's tokens by tributing two of his Sheep Tokens. Joey then activates "Vow of Tribe" which prevents Mai from attacking since monsters with the same name exist on both sides of the field. Joey then tributes the two tokens and "Swordsman of Landstar" to summon "Gilford the Lightning". The latter's effect then activates, destroying the two remaining copies of this card and the two remaining tokens. After Joey's "Gilford the Lightning" attacks Mai directly, Mai plays "Monster Reborn" to revive one of the three copies of this card from her Graveyard. That copy then gained 500 ATK due to "The Seal of Orichalcos". She then tributes that one to activate "Elegant Egotist" in order to Special Summon "Harpie Lady 1", "Harpie Lady 2" and Harpie Lady 3".[3]
  • After Dartz's defeat, Mai Valentine leaves this card behind as a keepsake for Valon. Valon finds this card after he sits up in his bed. While holding this card and looking out through the sunset on his balcony, Valon notes in his mind that he will never forget Mai.[4]
  • In episode 184, this card appears in a flashback Mai has when she remembers Joey telling her he learned a lot from Dueling Valon and that he is Dueling her in order to convey his will to her.
