Knights of Hanoi[edit]

  • In episode 11, Playmaker plays this card during his first Master Duel with Varis. He Link Summons this card to his right Extra Monster Zone using "Decode Talker" and "Encode Talker" as material, destroying Varis's "Fire Prison" as its targets had left the field. This card gains 300 ATK due to the effect of Playmaker's "Cynet Universe" and attacks and destroys Varis's "Linkbelt Wall Dragon". On the next turn, Playmaker activates and equips this card with "Parallel Port Armor" to prevent Varis from targeting it with card effects or destroying it by battle, but Varis later activates the effect of "Borreload Dragon" to target his "Autorokket Dragon" and reduce its ATK/DEF by 500. This allows "Autorokket Dragon" to chain its effect in response as it was targeted by the effect of a Link Monster, destroying itself to send "Parallel Port Armor" to the Graveyard. "Borreload Dragon" then attacks this card and takes control of it with its third effect, then has this card attack Playmaker directly. Playmaker activates "Cynet Refresh" to destroy all monsters in the Main Monster Zones, but Special Summon as many Cyberse Link Monsters destroyed by this effect to their owner's fields in the End Phase. This card is subsequently destroyed and Special Summoned to Playmaker's field. Playmaker also activates "Recoded Alive" to Special Summon "Encode Talker" from his Extra Deck, which he had previously returned there with the second effect of "Cynet Universe", to the zone the top-center Link Arrow of this card points to. In the next episode, Playmaker activates the first effect of this card to target monsters on the field or in the Graveyard up to the number of monsters co-linked to this card and return them to the hand, and attempts to return "Borreload Dragon" to Varis's Extra Deck, but as "Borreload Dragon" cannot be targeted by monster effect he is forced to target "Magnarokket Dragon" instead. This allows "Magnarokket Dragon" to chain its effect in response as it was targeted by the effect of a Link Monster, destroying itself to send this card to the Graveyard. Playmaker activates the second effect of "Cynet Refresh" in response, banishing it from his Graveyard to prevent his Cyberse Link Monsters, including this card, from being affected by Varis's card effects until the end of the turn. On Playmaker's next turn, he activates "Battle Buffer" as this card is co-linked with "Encode Talker", allowing him to choose the same number of monsters Varis controls and prevent them from activating their effects. This card then attacks "Borreload Dragon", with the effect of "Encode Talker" preventing this card from being destroyed by that battle and Playmaker from taking battle damage from that battle, and after damage calculation, increasing the ATK of this card by the ATK of "Borreload Dragon", to 5800. This also activates the effect of "Battle Buffer" as Playmaker's Cyberse Link Monster battled, placing a Battle Buffer Counter on it and increasing the ATK of all Cyberse Link Monsters Playmaker controls by 700 for each Battle Buffer Counter, increasing the ATK of this card to 6500. "Encode Talker" then attacks "Borreload Dragon", but is destroyed when Varis activates the effect of "Borreload Dragon" to reduce its ATK/DEF by 500. This activates the effect of "Battle Buffer", placing a second "Battle Buffer Counter" on it and increasing the ATK of this card to 7200. As Playmaker no longer controls any monsters in the Extra Monster Zone, he banishes "Recoded Alive" from his Graveyard to activate its second effect and Special Summon the "Decode Talker" he banished with its first effect so that it points to "Borreload Dragon" and rises to 4500 ATK though its own effect and the effect of "Battle Buffer", then attacks "Borreload Dragon". Varis is able to send "Decode Talker" to the Graveyard by equipping "Borreload Dragon" with "Borrel Cooling", giving it the ability to target one of his monsters and trigger the effect of his other "Magnarokket Dragon". Playmaker then activates the second effect of "Parallel Port Armor" by banishing "Decode Talker" and "Encode Talker" from his Graveyard, allowing this card to attack again. This card attacks and destroys "Borreload Dragon", defeating Varis.
  • In episode 14, this card appears in a flashback when Yusaku is dreaming about his Duel with Varis.
  • In episode 18, Playmaker Link Summons this card during his Master Duel with Akira Zaizen. He Link Summons this card to a zone "Decode Talker" points to using "Encode Talker" and "Balancer Lord" as material. In the next episode, this card loses 1000 ATK due to the effect of "Tindangle Hound" as it is linked, but as Playmaker controls this card (a Link-4 or higher monster) he activates "Linkage Hole" to destroy monsters Zaizen controls equal to the number of Link-3 or higher monsters he controls. As he controls two, he destroys Zaizen's "Tindangle Hound" and Set "Tindangle Angel". This card is then prevented from attacking Zaizen directly by the effect of Zaizen's "Tindangle Delaunay" after "Decode Talker" successfully attacked Zaizen directly. On the next turn, Tindangle Acute Cerberus" attacks this card, but Playmaker activates and equips this card with "Doppler Phase Coating", preventing it from being destroyed by battle once per turn, but as "Acute Cerberus" declared an attack, Zaizen Special Summons a "Tindangle Token". On the next turn, Playmaker activates "Alert Lancer" to allow this card to inflict piercing battle damage when it attacks this turn and attacks and destroys the "Tindangle Token" with this card, but Zaizen uses "Morley's Shield" to prevent him from taking battle damage from battles involving "Tindangle" monsters in his Main Monster Zones. On the next turn, "Acute Cerberus" attacks this card again, but its destruction is prevented by "Doppler Phase Coating", though Zaizen still Special Summons a "Tindangle Token" again. In the next episode, "Acute Cerberus" attacks this card again, but Playmaker banishes it until his next Standby Phase with "Cynet Backdoor" to ad a Cyberse monster with less DEF than this card's ATK from his Deck to his hand and sending the equipped "Doppler Phase Coating" to the Graveyard to activate its second effect, ending Zaizen's Battle Phase. This card would be permitted to attack directly when it returned to the field, but Zaizen activates "Euler's Circuit" to prevent Playmaker from attacking while Zaizen controls at least three monsters. On the next turn, this card returns to the field in Playmaker's central Main Monster Zone. Later, Playmaker Link Summons "Secure Gardna" to the Main Monster Zone that both this card and "Acute Cerberus" point to, allowing Zaizen to activate the effect of "Gergonne's End" and destroy all the monsters "Acute Cerberus" points to in order to inflict its ATK to Playmaker, but the effect of "Secure Gardna" prevents Playmaker from taking effect damage. At this point, Playmaker would be able to attack Zaizen directly with this card, but he instead uses the effect of the "Recovery Sorcerer" that is co-linked to this card to Special Summon "Secure Gardna" from his Graveyard so that it is co-linked with this card again, then activates the first effect of this card to return "Tindangle Hound" and "Tindangle Angel" from Zaizen's Graveyard to his hand, reducing the ATK of "Acute Ceberus" to zero, as he believed the cards to represent Zaizen and his sister and did not want them to remain in the Graveyard. This card then attacked and destroyed "Acute Ceberus", defeating Zaizen.
  • In episode 21, this card appears in a flashback when Ai is recounting the events of Playmaker's Duel with Zaizen to Roboppi.
  • In episode 22, this card appears in a flashback to Playmaker and Varis's first Master Duel.
  • In episode 29, this card appears in a flashback when Cal Kolter is recalling Playmaker and Varis's first Master Duel.
  • In episode 38, this card appears in a flashback when Varis recalls his first Master Duel with Playmaker.
  • In episode 46, Playmaker Link Summons this card during his second Master Duel with Varis. He Link Summons this card to the Main Monster Zone that both "Topologic Gumblar Dragon" and "Powercode Talker" are pointing to using "Encode Talker" and "Swap Cleric" as material, creating an Extra Link with his and Varis's Link Monsters. Playmaker then reduces the ATK of this card by 500 to activate the effect of "Swap Cleric" as it was used as Link Material, drawing a card. He draws and activates "Zero Extra Link", increasing the ATK of "Transcode Talker" by 800 for each Extra Linked monster on the field, including this card, to 9200. Varis then activates "Link Short" to prevent all co-linked monsters Playmaker controls, including this card, from attacking or activating their effects this turn. Playmaker then uses "Transcode Talker", "Powercode Talker" and this card to Link Summon "Decode Talker".

Ignis[edit]

  • In episode 81, this card appears in one of George Gore's visions as he visualizes strategies to use during a Duel.
  • In episode 82, Playmaker Link Summons this card during his second Speed Duel with The Gore to the Main Monster Zone that "Linkuriboh" points to using "Security Dragon", "Cross Debug" and "Linkslayer" as material so that it is co-linked with "Linkuriboh". He activates the first effect of this card to return "Dinowrestler King T Wrextle" to Gore's hand, but Gore activates "Dino Deceit" as Playmaker activated the effect of a Link Monster with an equal or higher Link Rating than that of a "Dinowrestler" Link Monster he controls, negating the effects of all monsters Playmaker controls and forcing him to conduct his Battle Phase this turn, as well as allowing Gore to Set a card. At the start of Playmaker's Battle Phase, Gore then activates the effect of "King T Wrextle" to prevent Playmaker from attacking until this card has attacked, and to destroy this card at the end of the Battle Phase if it does not attack. Playmaker chooses not to attack, so this card is destroyed. Later, Playmaker Special Summons this card from his Graveyard with the effect of "Firewall eXceed Dragon" so that it is co-linked with "Clock Lizard" and both it and "Clock Lizard" are linked with "eXceed Dragon", which gains 500 ATK for each Link Arrow the monsters it is linked to have, to 5500. Playmaker then activates the first effect of this card to return "King T Wrextle" to The Gore's hand, but Gore uses the effect of "Dino Domain" to return "Dinowrestler Valeonyx" to his hand and prevent his monsters from being affected by the effects of monsters Playmaker controls until the end of the turn. Playmaker then activates the effect of "Grid Sweeper" from his Graveyard, banishing it and "Clock Lizard" from his field to destroy Gore's "World Dino Wrestling", allowing more than one monster to attack this turn. At the start of Playmaker's Battle Phase, Gore once again activates the effect of "King T Wrextle" to force Playmaker to attack with this card first and prevent him from attacking until it has. This time, Playmaker chooses to attack with this card, but he activates the effect of "Firewall Guardian" from his Graveyard, banishing it to negate the attack and reduce the ATk of "King T Wrextle" to zero. This card remains on the field until the Duel is over.
