Card Rulings:A Wild Monster Appears!
OCG Rulings
- This card can Special Summon 1 Special Summon Monster from your hand with an original Level of 10 or lower. (This card cannot Special Summon monsters that cannot be Tribute Summoned because you do not enough Tributes, nor monsters that cannot be Special Summoned because the effect of a card like "Koa'ki Meiru Drago".)[1]
- This card can Special Summon Ritual Monsters since they are treated as Special Summon Monsters. (This is not treated as a Ritual Summon.)[1]
- Special Summoning a monster is considered the last thing to happen when this card resolves.[1]
- After this card resolves you cannot Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon monsters, and your opponent takes no damage this turn, but the monster Special Summoned by this effect can activate its effects and attack.[1]
- Applying "also shuffle it into the Deck during your opponent's next End Phase" does not start a Chain Link. (If the monster Special Summoned by this card leaves the field, "also shuffle it into the Deck during your opponent's next End Phase" is no longer applied.)[1]
- Because "If you Special Summon this monster, you cannot Normal Summon or Set a monster during the same turn." of "Grinder Golem", you cannot Special Summon "Grinder Golem" with "A Wild Monster Appears!" if you have already Normal Summoned a monster this turn. If you did not Normal Summon a monster this turn, you can Special Summon "Grinder Golem" with "A Wild Monster Appears!. It is Special Summoned to your side of the field. ("Grinder Tokens" are not Summoned.)[2]
- This card can Special Summon 1 Special Summon Monster from your hand with an original Level of 10 or lower. The following are examples of monsters that can be Special Summoned with "A Wild Monster Appears!":[3]
- "Infernoid Onuncu": It can be Special Summoned even if the combined Levels/Ranks of all Effect Monsters you control are 9 or more. You do not banish any "Infernoid" monster from your hand or Graveyard.[3]
- "Judgment Dragon": It can be Special Summoned even if you have 3 or less "Lightsworn" monsters in your Graveyard.[3]
- "Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth": It can be Special Summoned without Tributing a "Petit Moth" on the 6th of your turns after "Petit Moth" was equipped with "Cocoon of Evolution".[3]
- "Gearspring Spirit": It can be Special Summoned even if you have a non-Machine-Type monster in your Graveyard.[3]
- "Demise, King of Armageddon": It can be Special Summoned without using a Ritual Spell Card like "End of the World". You do not Tribute monsters from the field or your hand whose total Levels equal 8.[3]
- When this card is activated, the monster with an original Level of 10 or lower that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set is not revealed to your opponent. When this card resolves, the monster with an original Level of 10 or lower that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set is Special Summoned from your hand.[4]
- If "Mind Crush" is activated in a chain to "A Wild Monster Appears!", and you no longer have a monster in your hand that can be Special Summoned, "For the rest of this turn, you cannot Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon monsters, and your opponent takes no damage." is still applied.[5]
- If the activation of "A Wild Monster Appears!" is negated by "Magic Jammer" or if the effect is negated by "The Fabled Unicore", "For the rest of this turn, you cannot Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon monsters, and your opponent takes no damage." is not applied.[6]
- During your opponent's next End Phase, if "G.B. Hunter" is on the field, since the monster Special Summoned by "A Wild Monster Appears!" cannot be shuffled into the Deck, it remains on the field.[7]
- This card can be activated during a turn in which you have already Normal or Special Summoned a monster. (After this card resolves, "For the rest of this turn, you cannot Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon monsters, and your opponent takes no damage." is applied.)[8]
- If you activate the effect of "Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode" Special Summoned by the effect of "A Wild Monster Appears!", the "If you negate an effect this way, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard during the End Phase" effect cannot be used, since it needs to be Special Summoned by the effect of "Assault Mode Activate" to use the effect.[9]
- If "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes" Special Summoned by the effect of "A Wild Monster Appears!" is destroyed by battle, the "When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can banish 1 other Reptile-Type monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card." effect cannot be used, since it needs to be Special Summoned by the effect of "Rise of the Snake Deity" to use the effect.[10]
- If "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes" is Special Summoned by the effect of "A Wild Monster Appears!", since the "also shuffle it into the Deck during your opponent's next End Phase" effect is applied when it is Special Summoned, it is not affected by the "This card cannot be targeted by, and is unaffected by, Spell/Trap effects and other Effect Monsters' effects." effect. "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes" is shuffled into the Deck during your opponent's next End Phase.[11]
