OCG Rulings

  • The effect that prevents players from targeting cards in the Field Zones with card effects is applied as long as the "Malefic World" activated by this effect remains in the Field Zone. (Even if "Malefic Territory" is no longer on the field, this effect remains applied as long as "Malefic World" remains in the Field Zone.)[1]
  • The effect that changes the effect "There can only be 1 face-up "Malefic" monster on the field" to "There cannot be face-up "Malefic" monsters on the field with the same name" does not start a Chain Link.[1]
  • The effect that negates the effects of "Malefic" monsters on the field during the Battle Phase does not start a Chain Link.[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: You can activate "Malefic Territory" even if you control a Field Spell Card in your Field Zone. Also, if you apply the effect that activates 1 "Malefic World" from your Deck, when it resolves, the card that is already in the Field Zone (in this case, "Chicken Game") is sent to the Graveyard, and "Malefic World" is activated from your Deck face-up in your Field Zone.[2]
A: The effect of "Malefic Territory" that changes the effect "There can only be 1 face-up "Malefic" monster on the field" to "There cannot be face-up "Malefic" monsters on the field with the same name" is applied not only to the player that activated "Malefic Territory", but also to the opponent's player.
In this case, since your opponent controls "Malefic Stardust Dragon", you cannot Special Summon "Malefic Stardust Dragon", but you can Normal or Special Summon other "Malefic" monsters. Therefore, you can Special Summon "Malefic Cyber End Dragon" from your hand.[3]
