TCG Rulings
- The effect to Special Summon a monster starts a Chain.[1]
- If the effect of “Water Hazard” activates, and an effect is Chained that gives you to control of a monster, the effect of “Water Hazard” will not be applied.[1]
OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Water Hazard" cannot Special Summon a Special Summon Monster from your hand.[2]
- If an effect like "Crush Card Virus" is chained to the effect of "Water Hazard" so that you have no Level 4 or lower WATER monsters in your hand when resolving the effect of "Water Hazard", then your opponent can check your hand to verify that there are none.[3]
- If an effect is chained to the effect of "Water Hazard" so that you control a monster when resolving the effect of "Water Hazard", then the effect of "Water Hazard" resolves without effect. You cannot Special Summon a Level 4 or lower WATER monster.[4]
- The effect of "Water Hazard" starts a Chain.[5]
- If you activate "Water Hazard" from your hand and choose to activate its effect to Special Summon a monster at the same time, then the effect of "Royal Oppression" can be chained to negate the activation of and destroy "Water Hazard". However, if you activate "Water Hazard" from your hand and do not activate its effect at the same time, then "Royal Oppression" cannot be chained.[6]
