- Use "DNA Transplant" to turn all monsters on the field into a non-DARK Attribute.
- With "DNA Transplant" on the field, this card works well with "Patrician of Darkness" or "Staunch Defender", in order to redirect your opponent's monster's attacks to this card.
- Use "Chivalry", "Stardust Dragon", "Majesty's Fiend" or "Armades, Keeper of Boundaries" to counter or avoid this card's effect.
- Vampire Hunter, Consecrated Light, Core Blaster, Chaos Trap Hole and Karakuri Spider can handle any Dark monsters that Catastor can't deal with.
Countering
- "Fire King High Avatar Garunix" can easily destroy this card, as this card's effect would destroy "Garunix" with an effect, thus destroying this card when "Garunix" is Special Summoned during the next Standby Phase.
