• This card works well with "DNA Transplant". Once all monsters on the field are a single Attribute (other than DARK), no monster can destroy this card by battle.

• With "DNA Transplant" on the field, this card works very well with "Patrician of Darkness". If your opponent attacks you, you can use Patrician to force their monsters into an unwinnable battle with Catastor.

• Use "Staunch Defender" so you can destroy all of the opponent's non-DARK Monsters.

• Use "Chivalry", "Stardust Dragon" or "Armades, Keeper of Boundaries" to counter this card's effect.

• Equip this card with "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" to easily destroy two monsters your opponent controls.

• If you are running this in a "Blackwing" Deck, the easiest way to Synchro Summon this card is to Normal Summon "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame", attack and destroy a monster and use it's effect to Special Summon "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor", and then Tune for "Ally of Justice Catastor", since the effect of "Vayu" would be negated. You can also Summon "Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North" and Special Summon "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow" or "Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind.

• If this is the only monster you have on your side of the field and your opponent doesn't have any high-attack DARK monsters, you can use "Battle Mania" to force your opponent to attack this card with all of them.

• If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can easily Synchro Summon this card with "T.G. Striker" and "T.G. Warwolf" without performing a Normal Summon.

• "Hedge Guard" could protect it from cards that have a double anti-destruction effect.
