- You can use this effect when you Summon a Monarch, and you don't want to activate it's effect(s). This work particularly well on Monarchs that have a compulsory effect, such as Granmarg the Rock Monarch and Zaborg the Thunder Monarch. This also means that you, the controller of the said monster, get to draw a card.
- This effect ONLY works with monsters whose effect is activated when Normal Summoned, or with monsters whose effect activates specifically in response to a monster summoning (like "King Tiger Wanghu"). Card effects that do not specifically activate when a monster is Normal Summoned (like "Snipe Hunter") cannot be negated by this card.
- This card works well as an anti-Monarch trap, as ANY monster can have its effect negated, not just your own. It can also be used against the DARK support card "Armageddon Knight".
- This effect also works against Gadgets, and against monsters with "Marauding Captain"-like effects, making it a useful Side Deck.
- You can use this effect when you Summon an Arcana Force monster to negate the coin toss effects you didn't necessarily like that activated when it was summoned, as well as draw an extra card.
