* When your opponent controls only one extremely strong monster Summon a weak monster and swap it for your opponent's strong card.
+
* This card can be searched by "Triple Tactics Thrust", "Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic", and other generic searchers.
 +
* In a "Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon" Deck utilising "Impcantations" in order to facilitate its summon, you can trade a Main Deck "Impcantation" monster in Defense Position with one of your opponent's monsters. As Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon has 4000 ATK and the ability to deal double piercing battle damage, and all Main Deck "Impcantations" have 0 DEF, you can easily OTK your opponent with just one attack.

* A good monster to give to your opponent is a monster with a Flip Effect that has already been used, or a monster such as "Giant Rat", "Mystic Tomato" or "Sangan" whose effect activates in the card owner's Graveyard then you get benefit from its effect, not your opponent. "Mystic Tomato" is especially potent with this combo because you can search out a "Don Zaloog" or "Spirit Reaper" with it, and will often get to discard a card from the opponent's hand.
+
* This card is best used when your opponent controls only one strong monster or only one monster you want to get rid of (typically an indestructible monster).
 +
** If your opponent controls no monsters, you can give him one with cards such as "Grinder Golem", D.D. Guide, Shien's Spy or "Foolish Revival" (if there is a monster in your opponent's graveyard).
 +
** If your opponent controls more than 2 monsters use monster destroying cards such as Fissure or Nobleman of Crossout to get rid of the smaller ones.
 +
*** "Mind Control" can also be used to steal a monster you do not want and give you a monster to trade.
 +
*** Wattpheasant's effect can remove one monster you do not want from play or allow you to get back the monster you gave.
 +
** Be careful not to steal an opponent's monster with an effect that either activates in the Graveyard or temporarily removes it from the field (i.e. "Stardust Dragon", "Reborn Tengu" or "Sangan"). In the former case, your opponent will still get the effect of that monster (because it activates in their Graveyard); In the latter cases, the effects resolve while in the (hand, banished, or) the graveyard of the owner, so you would not get to steal the effect.

* This card can bypass most monsters that cannot be destroyed by effects, which can be a pain for your opponent, as now he has to think of a way to get rid of the monster without using an effect to destroy it.
+
* This card is best used when you control a weak monster  in Attack Position, a monster with negative effects for the controller or a monster that will disappear by the end of the turn.
 +
** Swap a weak indestructible monster such as "Marshmallon" in Attack Position to your opponent. Arcana Force 0 - The Fool is probably the best choice as it sports 0 attack and cannot be switched into Defense Position, essentially giving your monsters the ability to attack your opponent directly.
 +
** Monsters with a Flip Effect are usually weak, lose most of their utility once that effect has been used and end up in attack position when flipped.
 +
** This card works well with "Treeborn Frog".
 +
** "Volcanic Shell" combos very well with "Creature Swap" because you can use its effect from the Graveyard to pull another one from your Deck, giving you a perfect monster to trade to your opponent.
 +
** "Gustos" and "X-Sabers" can exploit this strategy to the fullest, due to those archetypes having a decent amount of searcher monsters.
 +
** "Creature Swap" can be used to activate the effects of "Griggle", "Kunoichi" and "Ameba".
 +
** Give your opponent a "Ra's Disciple" to prevent them from Special Summoning.
 +
** Use this card with "Chainsaw Insect" so when it's attacked you get to draw a card.
 +
** When "Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction" runs out of Xyz Materials, you can use this card to give it to your opponent. Your opponent will take 2000 damage during each of their Standby Phases, be unable to Special Summon monsters and they can't attack with "Acid Golem".
 +
** You can swap an "Ultimate Tyranno" while you have any combination of "Blast Sphere", "Zoma the Spirit", "Reflect Bounder", "Amazoness Swords Woman", "Fiend's Sanctuary" or any of the "Yubel" cards for tons of damage.
 +
** In a Mill Deck, give your opponent an Xyz Monster with this card. Once they decide to attack with it, activate "Vain Betrayer" to speed up the destruction of their Deck.
 +
** If you intend to give your opponent a strong monster, you should use the Equip Spell Card, "Vengeful Servant".
 +
** Use on "Zombie Mammoth" (Zombie decks only) or  "Malevolent Mech - Goku En" if your opponent has no Zombie-Type monsters to deal heavy damage and leave them with no monsters.
 +
** "Creature Swap" works well with Spirit monster Decks, since at the end of the turn the Spirit monster will return to your hand, even if it's on the opponent's side of the field.
 +
*** Use this as an opportunity to use "Legacy of Yata-Garasu". Instead of drawing one card, you would get to draw two due to the Spirit monster on your opponent's side of the field.

* "Creature Swap" can be considered a staple card for Spirit monster Decks. At the end of the turn, the Spirit monster would return to your hand, even if it's on the opponent's side of the field. Use this as an opportunity to use "Legacy of Yata-Garasu". Instead of drawing one card, you would get to draw two due to the Spirit monster on your opponent's side of the field.
+
* "Creature Swap" works well to provide a combat situation for monsters that require to defeat or be defeated for their effect to activate :
 +
** Monsters whose effect activates in the card owner's Graveyard, such as "Giant Rat", "Mystic Tomato", "Grave Squirmer" or "Sangan" will let you benefit from their effects and not your opponent. "Mystic Tomato" is especially potent with this combo because you can search out a "Don Zaloog" or "Spirit Reaper" with it, and will often get to discard a card from the opponent's hand.
 +
** "Jurrac Guaiba", "Hydrogeddon", "Blue Thunder T-45", "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame", among many others, benefit from defeating a monster in battle.
 +
*** In a Zombie Deck, cards such as "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon" or "Paladin of the Cursed Dragon" can "get back" a zombie monster you gave with Creature Swap. "Pyramid Turtle" is a good guinea pig for this combo, as it will also summon another monster when killed.
 +
** Use "Breakthrough!" in a Six Samurai deck by attacking the monster you gave.

* Use it Tribute the monster you gain from your opponent to Normal Summon one of your stronger monsters.
+
* In a "Dark World" Deck, swapping a "Morphing Jar" or "Rigorous Reaver" so that it becomes the "opponent's card effect" can help you activate the additional effects from cards like "Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World" or "Broww, Huntsman of Dark World" or fulfilling the requirements for "Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World".
** Set a Trap Monster beforehand and make sure to have 1 monster on the field. When you activate this card, you can trade that monster, then activate the Trap Monster and Tribute Summon a Level 7 or higher monster.
+
* Mystic Box and Shien's Spy are similar cards that can be used to give your opponent monsters with negative effects.

* Combo this card with "Foolish Revival" and "Final Attack Orders"/"All-Out Attacks" in order to bring out a colossal monster for attacking at the same turn.

* You can give your opponent a very weak monster in Attack Position to use your opponent's strong monster to attack your weak monster, dealing heavy damage.

** "Gustos" and "X-Sabers" can exploit this strategy to the fullest, due to those archetypes have decent amount of searcher monsters.

*** Swap your Attack Position "Marshmallon" to your opponent, and attack it with all of your monsters to deliver heavy damage. Alternatively, you can use "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" as it cannot be switched into Defense Position.

* Use this card on "Zombie Mammoth" if your opponent has no Zombie-Type monsters to deal 1900 damage and leave them with no monster.

* If you Normal Summon "Malevolent Mech - Goku En" without a Tribute and you don't have a Zombie-Type monster, then use "Creature Swap" to give it to the opponent so that they takes 2400 damage and you get to keep a monster.

** This is also a good card to combo with the Equip Spell Card, "Vengeful Servant".

* You can swap an "Ultimate Tyranno" while you have any combination of "Blast Sphere", "Zoma the Spirit", "Reflect Bounder", "Amazoness Swords Woman", "Fiend's Sanctuary" or any of the "Yubel" cards for tons of damage.

* "Grinder Golem" can be swapped, and deliver a massive 3000 points of damage while providing card advantage.

* Use this with "Grave Squirmer" to inflict damage and destroy an opponent's card.

* Use this with searcher monsters to steal your opponent's monster and not lose your monster (since you can summon another one with the effect of the first).

* Use "Creature Swap" in your "Dark World" Deck by swapping your "Morphing Jar" or "Rigorous Reaver" so that it becomes the "opponent's card effect". That is necessary for activating additional effects from cards like "Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World" or "Broww, Huntsman of Dark World", or fulfilling the requirements for "Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World".

* Summon "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" and Special Summon "Blackwing - Bora the Spear", then use "Creature Swap" selecting "Bora". Destroying "Bora" in battle with "Shura" allows the Special Summon of a "Blackwing" from your Deck.

* Be careful not to steal an opponent's monster with an effect that either activates in the Graveyard or temporarily removes it from the field (i.e. "Stardust Dragon", "Reborn Tengu" or "Sangan"). In the former case, your opponent will still get the effect of that monster (because it activates in their Graveyard); In the latter cases, the effects resolve in the (hand, banished "zone," or) the graveyard of the owner, so you would not get to steal the effect.

* "Volcanic Shell" combos very well with "Creature Swap" because you can use its effect from the Graveyard to pull another one from your Deck, giving you a perfect monster to trade to your opponent.

* "Creature Swap" can be used to activate the effects of "Griggle" and "Ameba".

* This card works well with "Treeborn Frog".

* Use this card with "Chainsaw Insect" so when it's attacked you get to draw a card.

* When "Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction" runs out of Xyz Materials, you can use this card to give it to your opponent. Your opponent will take 2000 damage during each of their Standby Phases, be unable to Special Summon monsters and they can't attack with "Acid Golem".

* If you opponent controls 2 monsters and worst case situation you control none; activate "Mind Control" and take the monster you don't want. Then, activate "Creature Swap" to take the other monster you actually want while returning control of the "Mind Control" monster you don't want.

** You can also use "Back to Square One" before activating this card to get rid of your opponent's weakest monster.

* This card is pretty useful in a 3 card combo including itself, a weak monster you own and a third card that benefits from your opponent having a certain monster on his field. E.g. Special Summon "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon", that requires you to destroy a Zombie-Type monster for its effect to activate, with "Call of the Haunted", then Normal Summon "Pyramid Turtle" and swap the "Turtle" to your opponent. Destroy "Turtle" in battle with "Zombie Dragon" to get 2 more monsters due to the effect of "Turtle" and "Zombie Dragon".

* Give your opponent a "Ra's Disciple" to prevent them from Special Summoning.
