- This card can be Special Summoned with "Cyber-Stein", "Summoner of Illusions" "Magical Scientist" and "Metamorphosis".
- If you have Dark Magician on the field, you can summon the Dark Hex-Sealed Fusion and use its ability to special summon this card without Polymerization.
- You can use King of the Swamp or other Fusion Substitute Monsters to substitute for Flame Swordsman.
- You can use Instant Fusion to quickly get out Flame Swordsman while you have Dark Magician on the field to accelerate the summoning of this card.
- This card's low defense makes is the perfect target for Card Rotator or Block Attack. Try to have a Mystical Space Typhoon to counter if this happens.
