• This card can be searched via "Sangan", "Last Will", "Witch of the Black Forest", "Mystic Tomato", "Dark General Freed", "Freed the Matchless General", "Summoner Monk", "Field-Commander Rahz", "Reinforcement of the Army", and Special Summoned via "Dark Horus".

• Set Shrink while you control Don Zaloog in Attack Position. If your opponent attacks it with anything less than 2800 ATK, Shrink will cause them to lose their monster AND a random card from their hand. Alternatively, Rush Recklessly can be used instead of Shrink. This method only works if the opponent's monster is less than 2100 ATK, but could be advantageous if attacking directly with Don Zaloog.

• If Don Zaloog is in face-down Defense Position and the opponent attacks it with a monster with less than 1500 ATK, Don Zaloog's effect will activate to make your opponent discard or mill.

• "Don Zaloog" works very well with "Messenger of Peace", at 1400 ATK, he can get under the effect.

• With "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" and "Secret Pass to the Treasures", you can attack directly 1800 damage and two cards in their hand for a single turn. (Note, however, this leaves him incredibly vulnerable the next turn.)

• Combine with Micro Ray and Fairy Meteor Crush or Big Bang Shot to do piercing damage. Only use it on a Face-up defense monster, as that is the only way it works.
• Use Magic Hole Golem to halve this cards attack to 700,but able to attack directly to activate one of his effects.
