- This card can be searched by "Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion", "Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon", "Rogue of Endymion", "Watch Cat", "Watch Dog", "The Despair Uranus", and other generic searchers.
- This can be used in an "Forbidden One"/"Exodia" Deck: use a lot of Normal Monsters and "Heart of the Underdog" to increase your drawing power. Since "Gaia the Fierce Knight" is a Normal Monster, like 4 of the 5 "Exodia" cards, it can be drawn out more quickly with cards like "Common Charity", also "Curse of Dragon" is a Normal Monster, so it can be drawn more quickly to Fusion Summon "Gaia the Dragon Champion" to use this card's drawing effect.
- If this effect is used with "Gaia the Dragon Champion", some good cards to discard for its effect are: "Skull-Mark Ladybug" (to gain 1000 Life Points), "Ojamagic" (to gain three "Ojama" monsters for discard fodder as well as thin out your Deck), "Thunder Dragon" and "Night Assailant" (for hand advantage).
- This can be useful for setting up cards in the Graveyard for later monsters like "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" and "Chaos Sorcerer".
- Since "Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion" has it's name changed to "Gaia the Dragon Champion" while on the field, you can maximize both of this card's effects, since "Sky Galloping Gaia" can shift a monster into Defense Position, allowing it to deal piercing damage, followed by you drawing/discarding cards. And as stated above, "Sky Galloping Gaia" can search out this card when summoned, making this combo easy to execute.
