  • Many players say this is the most powerful and broken monster card ever released.
  • In Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Bastion Misawa states that Chaos Emperor Dragon is so powerful, it has been banned from official tournaments, making it one of the few cards that is Forbidden both in the anime and real-life card game.
  • This card is possibly the rival of Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, as both appear to be opposites of each other by their theme, and appearance (the armor and horns on both their heads). When Dimitri uses Yugi's deck, he uses Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, meaning that Yugi had the card in his deck. This sets up a rivalry between the cards, since Yugi and Kaiba were great rivals throughout the story. In the same vein, this card is analogous to Blue-Eyes White Dragon, in level, ATK, DEF, and Type (statistically, the only difference between the two cards is the Attribute).
  • Both of the two envoy cards possibly allude to epic poems that tell of heroic knights or warriors fighting against dragons who were portrayed as powerful, but evil creatures in medieval times. An example would be Beowulf when he went to fight against a dragon in his last quest before his death.
  • The French version of this card exists with two names, it was fist called "Empereur Dragon du Chaos - Annonciateur de l'Apocalypse" then it was called "Dragon Empereur du Chaos - Émissaire de l'Achèvement".
  • This card, along with Yata-Garasu are arguably the two cards which created the Ban list.
  • on The Lost Millennium Version of the card there is a typo the card says" inflict 300 points of damage to yoru opponent"s life points for each card that is sent to the grave yard by this effect." note your is misspelled yoru seen in this picture[[1]].
