- This card has two counterparts known as Deck Devastation Virus and Eradicator Epidemic Virus. Whether intentional or not, their names go in alphabetical order based on their successive releases, C to D to E.
- This card's Japanese name translates to Deck Destruction Virus of Death.
- For obvious reasons, this card's effect when it was first introduced during Yugi and Kaiba's rematch at Duelist Kingdom, did not carry over into reality, and was toned down to linger for only 3 of your opponent's turns instead of the remainder of the Duel.
- This card was released by mistake in several Power of the Duelist Sneak Preview Events.
- The Kanji in the artwork for this card can be read as shi (Death). And if you took all the words for each Virus Cards names in the order of Eradicator Epidemic Virus,Crush Card Virus and Deck Devastation Virus. the Kanjis for them would make "Dark Death Demon".
- The UDE Gold Series version of this card is currently very valuable, due to being Short Printed. The speculated rate of pulling a Crush Card Virus is one in ten packs (Though some have claimed it to be as uncommon as 1 in 75 packs).
- In some video-games, this card is a Spell Card. This card also appears as a Spell Card in the English Version of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime during the Duelist Kingdom story arc, however, when the card is shown again during the Battle City story arc, it is a Trap Card just like in the Orignal Japanese and in real life.
- This was the most highly sought after cards in the UDE Gold Series when it was released.
- In the game Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour, this card's name was Deck Destruction Virus and its listed effect was that of the Deck Destruction Virus card used by Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light without it being a Continuous Trap Card. However, when activated, it maintains the effect of Crush Card Virus.
- The Japanese name of "Lich Lord, King of the Underworld" refers to this card.
- This is the 2nd Virus Card to be banned while the 1st being Tribe-Infecting Virus.
