Ok so my opponent has a "blue-eyes white dragon" and i control "witchcraft schmietta" under "lair of darkness". Can i use "lair of darkness" to tribute my opponets monster with "witchcraft schmiefta's" quick effect of "you can tribute this card, then discard 1 spellcard" DougV88 (talk • contribs) 05:15, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
- As "Witchcrafter Schmietta" Tributes itself to activate its effect, this situation is comparable to the first ruling listed on the page.
In short, no, you can't use Schmietta with Lair of Darkness. AlphaKretin (talk • contribs) 08:31, 17 April 2019 (UTC)A: When applying the effect of "Lair of Darkness" that allows you to Tribute an opponent's DARK monster when activating a card or effect, the Tributed monster must be an appropriate monster to Tribute for that effect. Since the effect of "Doomcaliber Knight" is activated by Tributing itself, you cannot apply the effect of "Lair of Darkness" to Tribute an opponent's DARK monster instead.
