*Which brings me to another question: Can you call OCG only cards in the TCG, and vice-versa? I'm guessing they, legally, "don't exist" in the other card game. And I've taken the persona of Snapesnatch, so I just might have to put mine in my deck, useless or not. --[[Special:Contributions/68.80.118.41|68.80.118.41]] 20:07, 17 March 2009 (UTC) Message courtesy of Snapesnatch. I know you can't name a non-existent card, but can you name an illegal card like Obelisk the Tormentor? Or a forbidden card like Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning? --68.80.118.41 22:11, 14 March 2009 (UTC) Message courtesy of Snapesnatch. But he's not feeling very courteous right now, so you'd better run away.

  • I don't think you can call a name of an illegal or forbidden card. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 22:18, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Thanks. I want a couple of opinions, so that's one in "NO".

Why would you name a forbidden or illegal card? They won't have it in their decks anyway.75.24.105.135 08:33, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Exactly. You get to look through their deck to confirm. So, you know their entire deck.

you know, that does seem like a smart way to look through your opponents deck. however, i don't think that you can call an illegal card with DD, but you might be able to call a forbidden card...

so basically, i active Dark Des and call "DMOC" or "Cyber Jar" and i can then check through there decks and comfirmed

however, i don't think you can active Dark Des and call "Emperor of Lightning" because it is an illegal card therefore it wouldn't naturally be in your opponent's deck.

[side note = forbidden cards can be named because of traditional format where the Forbidden is only limited, and for those groups of people who love/miss C.J.]

i posted the above and forgot to sign my signature [~MEOW~ Altyrell]

  • I'll post the scores: YES:0, NO:1, ILLEGAL ONLY:0, FORBIDDEN ONLY:1. --68.80.118.41 22:13, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
If you are playing Advanced Format, you cannot name Forbidden cards, because those cards technically don't exist. You can only name Forbidden card in Traditional Format.
Although, if you really want to search your opponent's deck, just name a card no one will ever play. Like "Claw Reacher".
