Does anyone know what the largest archtype in the whole game is? I'm just curious. Is it Elemental Heroes, or are there bigger archtypes? 2.125.252.199 (talk) 18:27, November 25, 2011 (UTC)

I would say Elemental heroes. IF they really do it though: Numbers.--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 20:29, November 25, 2011 (UTC)

Elemental HEROes have more than 100 cards with "Elemental HERO" in their card text (not their names) and many more that don't mention it. They're definitely the largest, unless you count the larger HERO Archetype that contains them. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 17:09, November 26, 2011 (UTC)

Including anime cards:
Knight has 110; but it is not an archetype. When it is changed to series most of them will be removed. The rest currently go in this order:
102 Knight
407 HERO
222 Elemental HERO
245 Cyber
202 Roid
206 Archfiend
89 Genex
107 Worm
183 Blackwing
78 Naturia

Of course, this doesn't count Support. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 00:07, November 27, 2011 (UTC)

Wait, so even if Konami pulls it off, there'll still be more HEROes than Numbers? Huh. --Blue-Eyes Starlight Dragon (talkcontribs) 04:51, November 27, 2011 (UTC)

Utopia Ray is a Number, and there could be more like that. But even so, without support cards, Numbers are a series, not an archetype (just means we categorise them by theme, not name here, that's all). -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 04:55, November 27, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, made a mistake. Knight is an archetype per Revival Knight, I was thinking of Warrior (archetype) which will be changed to series.
So Knight is the largest anime archetype (since that is the only support card and it is anime only).
If you only count TCG/OCG cards:
146 HERO
77 Elemental HERO
99 Cyber
46 Genex
82 Archfiend
42 Worm
42 Naturia
63 Blackwing
73 Roid

Having decided to count the cards myself, the Knights are actually the second biggest overall (anime and TCG/OCG) archetype, with 104. Elemental Heroes alone have more than 100 cards that directly refer to themselves, So if one were to include the overall HERO archetype, there're more than 150 cards. So HERO is the biggest overall archetype, with Knights as second. Neos01 (talkcontribs) 12:30, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

It must contain the string "HEROヒーロー" in its name for it to properly count as being part of the archetype. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 12:45, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Do you include support aswell, or just monsters? And don't forget, HEROes have a lot of support cards that refer to HEROes in their card texts, allowing them to be part of the archetype. Neos01 (talkcontribs) 13:25, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

You can see what I'm counting if you look at the source of this page (edit page). There are 407 cards with "HEROヒーロー" in their name. 97 that support "HEROヒーロー" and 142 that are related.
But some overlap, so excluding the overlaps, there should be 578 Hero/Related/Support.
and I've just noticed that the list isn't complete, things like Late Hero haven't been updated. I'll do that tomorrow.

Having done a recount, there're cards like Hero Blast, Good Hero and many others that weren't in the list. If you include these, then HEROes become larger than 110, making them the largest overall archetype, even in anime. Neos01 (talkcontribs) 14:33, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, the list is complete, it's just that the way they are categorised wasn't exactly what I thought it was. In order to get a list that includes support/related, I'll need to do this:
Including anime/manga cards:
408 Hero monsters
657 Hero monsters/support
813 Hero monsters/support/related
TCG/OCG only:
146 Hero monsters
223 Hero monsters/support
268 Hero monsters/support/related
Though, you're not really meant to count related as being properly part of the archetype, I'll mention what the count would be anyway. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 22:58, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
