"Fusion" (フュージョン Fyūjon) is an archetype of cards used to Summon Fusion Monsters, usually with the help of Fusion Material Monsters.

Closely tied to the "Polymerization" (archetype), the "Fusion" archetype relies on combining weaker monsters into stronger monsters.

Keep in mind that not all cards that can Fusion Summon include "Fusion" in their names, and not all "Fusion" cards can Fusion Summon. Many of the cards released in the OCG/TCG now have a special support card, "Synchro Fusionist", which, if it is used in a Synchro Summon, can search out any Spell Card from your Deck if "Fusion" (except for "Diffusion Wave-Motion") or "Polymerization" is in its name.
