Grandpa Demetto is a character appearing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL manga.

Biography

Grandpa Demetto was the one who granted Koron-chan a soul, by Dr. Faker's request, giving her "humanity".

After Koron-chan lost her Duel against Yuma Tsukumo, she was thrown into the fire which surrounded the field by the attack of Yuma's "Number". Cathy tried to save her, but in her haste she mistakes one of Koron's dolls for her instead. This time, Yuma goes to save her, but he couldn't get out. When both were going to be burnt, Grandpa Demetto appears, and leads them out of the fire, being himself engulfed by the flames, together with the field. Koron mourns his death, saying that she loved him.

Trivia

• Demetto may be a reference to Gepetto from the Pinocchio fairy-tale, as he is a kind old craftsman, who created a doll and gave it a life.
