Design[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Katz is a slim young boy with brown eyes and brown hair. He wears a yellow T-shirt with a white cross patterned across the chest, maroon pants, and charcoal shoes with white soles.

Biography[edit]

Katz and Ricky greeted Yuga at school one day, and Katz cautioned Yuga over receiving five penalties on his Duel Disk. As Yuga tried to explain they were like the medals of a challenger, Gavin Sogetsu zoomed over and began admonishing Yuga for his penalties, but was shocked when Yuga revealed he had opened the Duel Disk to install new rules. Katz and Ricky watched as Yuga explained his intentions to Gavin, cheering when he used his "Road" catchphrase, though they were interrupted by class starting. After school that day, Ricky tried to trade cards with Katz, but they were prohibited from doing so un-supervised by a Goha Enterprises Drone; Katz commented that it couldn't be helped.[1]

The next day, Yuga told Katz and Ricky about Rush Dueling, the new rules he had managed to install, though before he could say more he was dragged under the desk by Lucidien "Luke" Kallister, who didn't want word of Rush Dueling to be spread. Romin Kassidy suggested Yuga and Luke settle the matter with a Rush Duel, and Katz and Ricky eagerly watched the Duel, with Gavin explaining the rules. Before the Duel, Katz tried to film it, but his smartphone mysteriously deactivated due to Luke's strange power. Katz was enamoured by the speed of the Rush Duel, particularly the chance for a comeback that it promoted. Yuga failed to defeat Luke, who defeated him with "Multistrike Dragon Dragias". Katz noted that Yuga's loss couldn't be helped, though he had enjoyed the Rush Duel. Yuga then revealed he had livestreamed the Rush Duel with a modified Drone, and Katz joined his fellow students in looking the Duel up on the internet before returning to class.[2]

Rayne Nanahoshi called Katz asking for any information about Yuga's "Sevens Road Magician" card, but Katz had never seen anyone use the card other than Yuga.[3]

Maximum[edit]

Katz and Ricky watched Yuga's Duel with Nail Saionji atop the Goha Enterprises Main Office, during which Nail declared his intention to crush Rush Dueling. Hearing this, Katz claimed to be Yuga's comrade and was judged by a Goha Enterprises Drone to be part of Yuga's group, receiving five penalties on his Duel Disk, and would receive a sixth if Yuga lost. He cheered Yuga on as he Maximum Summoned "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord" again to defeat Nail, and the penalties on his Duel Disk were erased after the Duel.[4]

Team Battle Royal[edit]

Katz was present when new student teacher Gwendoline Purdy introduced herself to his, Ricky, Yuga, Romin and Mimi's class.[5]

Katz, Ricky and another girl entered the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal as a team, but their team was defeated seven times and eliminated on the first day of the tournament.[6]

Goha 6 Siblings[edit]

After the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal, Katz and Ricky were walking to school talking about the robot that had appeared on the moon at the end of the tournament. Yuga arrived and explained it was the Super Rush Robot, much to their interest. Yuga suggested they Rush Duel, but they were told off by Rino and Rayne Nanahoshi for trying to Rush Duel on the way to school.[7]
