A Prismatic Secret Rare card is a special variety of Secret Rare card where the holographic foil pattern follows a distinct horizontal and vertical parallel pattern as opposed to the usual diagonal pattern. In addition, the card name contains multiple speckled holofoil colors as opposed to one solid holofoil color.

This rarity name is only used in the TCG, where it is seldom seen in sets; on the other hand, almost all standard OCG Secret Rares use this prismatic pattern. Early TCG video game promos were Prismatic Secret Rare, but this style disappeared after video game promos became Super Rare. The pattern was later re-introduced to the TCG, included in World Superstars, instead of regular Secret Rares.

As of Rising Rampage, the TCG has introduced an unnamed rarity in main series Booster Packs that bares some resemblance to the OCG's 20th Secret Rare; while the name of this new rarity has been officially denied to be Prismatic Secret Rare (in contrast to the contents of the 2019 Gold Sarcophagus Tin and 2019 Gold Sarcophagus Tin Mega Pack), this new rarity is collectively referred to as Prismatic Secret Rare by most community members and vendors for lack of an official name.

On the Official Card Database, this rarity was labelled as Secret Rare. For cards released in the Gold Sarcophagus Tin Mega Pack and later, it is identified as Prismatic Secret Rare.[1]
