Card lore[edit]

There's already a lore for this card on the page. But where is the proof? That effect and number of materials seem to be too good for those gigantic 4500 atk points. I think the lore should be removed until proof is presented.--Xicokiko (talkcontribs) 22:01, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

It's Manga Lore... Sure they will nerf it down to weakly version, or improve the Materials' requirement (like with "Thunder End Dragon") --FredCat 22:06, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

Guess, you're right. But it still seems broken. And did they really say it was a female. That thing looks like an "it", not a "she".--Xicokiko (talkcontribs) 22:17, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

is number 22 : Fran Ken female or male ?--Yugx5dszexal (talkcontribs) 02:37, April 19, 2012 (UTC)

Some duelists said "I activate her effect" or something, dunno, just ask that user who brought it up. --FredCat 22:18, April 18, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, but do you have any Japanese sources for the latest chapters? I do, and so does NeoArkadia from Neo Ark Cradle. Manga effect uses to be modified when the card is released in the OCG, and most of the cards even arent. And yes, Koron-chan treats Fran Ken as a female. Things doesn't depend in your opinion, but in the fact. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 22:19, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, i'm deeply sorry. I went to Neo Ark Cradle. That is indeed its lore (according to them) and it is indeed a female. It also appears that Princess Koron-chan also has number 14. And I know that the card isn't shaped by my opinion. It it was, that "girl" would be an Earth Zombie.--Xicokiko (talkcontribs) 22:34, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

Ah no need to sorry, didn't want to look harsh. But if you pay attention, Koron-chan isn't said to have No14. It is just that they mention No1 and No14 in the Rank, but we don't even know who does that. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 22:40, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

I know that she will probably be nerfed when released, but still, this is a demonstration of "girl power". And I can'tfigure out the secret behind this card's number.--Xicokiko (talkcontribs) 13:06, April 19, 2012 (UTC)

No doubt this is going to be a Zombie-type monster, since it's a reference to Frankenstein's monster. As for the Attribute, it could be either Dark or Earth. — This unsigned comment was made by 70.188.151.10 (talkcontribs)

Atlanthal. Nothing more to say. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 21:29, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Female monsters?![edit]

Seems like spam to me. Anyone got proof? Shamus (talkcontribs) 03:22, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

A picture of Number 22 stopping it's attack to offer Gagaga Girl should suffice. That's its real manga effect. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 12:25, May 22, 2012 (UTC)
Gotta love those reactions from duelists in first panel. But yes, that's how that happening... At least Gagaga Girl showed him the flaw. --iFredCat 13:41, May 22, 2012 (UTC)
I know it looks like spam, but its the real effect. I found this written information in t least 4 different reliable Japanese websites, and I got actual scans for the chapter which proves that as well (the image I posted for Rank 18 itself shows Koron saying that she totally forgot Fran Ken cannot attack female monster). In my opinion, this should be added in the article in a way it is only shown to who will edit it, so that they know it is not spam, but I don't know how to do that :P. Manga effects are always weird so you guys need to chill. --Stardustdrago (talkcontribs) 06:01, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Why 22?[edit]

Is there any reason why this card's number is 22? --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 02:39, June 9, 2012 (UTC)

Confirmed in Manga - what else can it be? Astral said it's Number 22. --iFredCat 02:40, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
I know, but why is this card's number 22? I mean, for Number 15, it reflects its owner, IV, since his name composes of the Roman numerals 1 and 5. Then, there's Number 32: Shark Drake, which is used by III (3), and is the 2nd "Number" used by the Tron family. So, how does the number 22 relate to this card, in general? --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 02:43, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
Either it's Koro's favorite number or that's how Franksten was created. I dunno. --iFredCat 02:48, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
Did a little homework; the 2nd edition of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley was published in 1822. Plus, 2 + 2 = 4 = the 4th Number Yuma has faced in the Manga (though that in itself is stretching it). Beyond that, though, I've got nothin'. --AchtSieben (talkcontribs) 08:57, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
If you ask me, I think it's because it's the 2nd card whose effect applies to a certain monster gender (in this case, female), and that it's one of the 2 only cards in the entire game to have an effect revolving around a specific gender, the other being the anime effect of "Shadow of Eyes". But that's only an assumption. --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 15:51, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
22 = Twen-Tea for 2. Girls have little tea parties for their dolls. /wildmassguessing. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 16:05, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
In my opinion what AchtSieben makes more sense. Published in 1822 - Fran Ken's secret is revealed in Rank 18 and he is No 22. About being the 2nd card whose effect applies to a gender, sorry but I'm pretty sure it isn't 'cuz of that. What Golden Key said also looks interesting.LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:30, June 9, 2012 (UTC)

Dark Attribute !?[edit]

It says in this card's page that it is a Dark monster. Has that been confirmed yet? I'm just asking because in Shriek it doesn't say anything about it. I hope it isn't true because i really want this card to be an Earth Zombie.--Xicokiko (talkcontribs) 14:43, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Someone did show proof. go to the history, and see it. 24.83.215.20 (talk) 21:47, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
Legenacy Legenary confirmed it. --iFredCat 22:12, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I took that information from the source I linked, which is an official and reliable site for the OCG. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 22:16, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
Oh dammit, I mistook your "r" for "c", curse that japan sound... --iFredCat 22:24, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, got it. Sorry for the commotion. Another Dark Number. Still hoping it to be a Zombie-type. That would be refreshing.--Xicokiko (talkcontribs) 22:32, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Materials[edit]

Reference: http://shriek.twoday.net/stories/97059832/ Fran Ken needs 2 Machine-Type monsters instead of 2 DARKs.TheGallisMan (talkcontribs) 12:00, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

People keep coming with different "proof" for DARK and Machine materials. Which one is correct on the current card image? I can't translate Japanese, but there seem to be 2 opposing sources. 108.196.206.15 (talk) 12:15, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Gotta trust this one - now stop arguing. Either stick with one or begone. --iFredCat 12:21, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
It's 2 Level 8 DARK monsters for materials. Shriek got their translation wrong this time, probably due to the old small and blur image which the text on card is unreadable and the information source that they got are not confirmed. We have clearer image for now, and I can confirm with my eyes that this is "闇属性" (Dark Attribute), not "機械" (Machine). Blackwings0605 (talk) 13:36, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
I was the one that added the jplore to this article. People need to know that Shriek and Neo Ark Cradle all translate based on their own resources and abilities, just like what the users do here. What they translate is not deemed official and there will be the occasional mistakes.  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 13:53, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Legal Status[edit]

I couldn't help but notice there's been a bit of disagreement over whether or not this card is legal for worldwide play. Personally, I don't think it's that legal in the TCG, since it has yet to be distributed through Europe. Should I edit the page to make a notification about this? --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks!
