Romāji

English

Now everytime I close my eyelids, I feel near you
The words you gave me, and the remorseful tears.
Like stream flowing, again the season passed
Repeatedly ...

If you want to cry, it's OK to cry out
If you hesitate/waver, it's OK to stop doing it
Until your sorrow ceases, I'll be here
Since I am your mikata(ally/friend)

Head for the future in which there shines light
Even though (we) don't know what will happen
There is nothing to be afraid of
Without confusion(Don't get lost), hey, let's go

Forever my friend always and always
I hope your smile be always shining
Forever and ever (lit. indefinitely, whenever, and in whichever day)
You're not alone, never
The same song is still resounding, connecting us
The melody of promise
Oh you're my best Friend

People are born for happiness
(And) In order to be happy/blessed, we learn fortitude
Nobody can be living alone
(And) Everyone holds his weakness tight

Holding (each other's) frozen hand
Let's collect the fragments of dream lost before
That we met each other is a marvelous miracle, (so) let's chant1 the happiness

Forever my friend always and always
This will never change, even if we choose different ways
Even if we are separated, still we will meet again
You're not alone, never, ever
Under the same sky we miss2, and we feel
It'll surely be fine

Forever my friend always and always
I hope your smile be always shining
Forever and ever (lit. indefinitely, whenever, and in whichever day)
You're not alone, never
The same song is still resounding, connecting us
The melody of promise
The overflowing melody
Oh you're my best Friend

1.In the original text, Japanese uses a verb which is for "playing with an instrument" and here it cannot be properly translated because of the lack of such verb in English. Therefore, "chant" is used instead.

2.In the sense of "thinking".
