As Blue Maiden's "Marincess" Link Monster destroyed an opponent's monster by battle, and she controls a Link-3 or higher "Marincess" Link Monster, she activates her Trap "Marincess Current" from her hand via its' condition, inflicting damage to Harlin equal the Link Rating of that monster Blue Maiden controls times 400, then if Blue Maiden controls a Link-2 or higher "Marincess" Link Monster and she destroyed Harlin's Link Monster by that battle, Blue Maiden inflicts damage to Harlin equal the destroyed monster's Link Rating times 500. "Marbled Rock" is Link-3, so she inflicts 1200 damage to Harlin (Harlin: 1400 → 200 LP), and "Twin Hydradrive Knight" is Link-2, so she then inflicts 1000 damage to Harlin (Harlin: 200 → 0 LP).

Differences in adaptations[edit]
- In the dub, from this episode onwards, the Link Summoning animation of "Marincess Blue Slug" has her interior skirt darkened, and her rear is erased.
- In the dub, Harlin's characterization and his interactions with Lightning and Bohman are changed significantly.
- Lightning does not send Harlin out to face Blue Maiden without care for his safety and in fact cautions him that he may not return if he goes to Duel her.
- It is revealed that Lightning once told Harlin that Bohman's code was effectively rewritten every time his memories were and that he was in essence a different individual that was not Harlin's brother. This statement is shown to have deeply affected Harlin, to the point he was overjoyed when Bohman actually remembered his name after gaining his true memories, though he does not believe his brotherly bond with Bohman to be real, only programming.
- In the original version, Harlin followed Lightning's orders dutifully to Duel Blue Maiden, despite Bohman's warning. In the dub, as Lightning instead cautioned him against Dueling her, Harlin is eager to protect Bohman.
- In the dub, Blue Maiden claims that she and Aqua created the "Shape of Sea" Skill together.
- After Harlin is deleted, Bohman vowed to remember him in the original version. In the dub, he instead vows revenge; notably, when he later Dueled Blue Maiden in the original version, Bohman claimed he did not hate her and Aqua for defeating Harlin due to the emotions the experience allowed him to feel.
