This article is about the gameplay term, for the character, see: Z-one, or for the card see Z-ONE

A Zone is any square of the Playing Field. The top section has 7 squares. The top left is for the Field Spell Cards. Across to the right are the 5 squares are for Monster Cards, known as the Monster Card Zone. On the top right corner is the Graveyard. This is where all cards go when they have been destroyed either by battle, effect, Spell & Trap Cards, or that have been already activated. The bottom section has the same number of squares. The bottom left is the Extra Deck Zone (formerly known as the Fusion Deck Zone). This is where all Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Monsters go before being Special Summoned to the Playing Field. Across is the Spell & Trap Card Zone, also known as the S/T Zone. This is where you play and/or set Spell & Trap Cards. Some effects of monsters like "Crystal Beasts" can allow them to be set on the Spell & Trap Card Zone. On the bottom right is your Deck Zone. This is where you basically put your deck. Some cards can be banished, also known as removed from play, RFG or RFP, by other card effects. There is no limit on how many cards you can banish. However, Monster Cards and S/Ts have a 5 card restriction on the Playing Field. If you have a Side Deck, just place it anywhere away from the Field. Some cards like "Ground Collapse" do not allow you to use a certain square(s).
